Features to know about

Built for Real Highway Miles: Load Range E with 81-mph Speed Rating

This tire-and-wheel combo handles long hauls and heavy loads with confidence. The Tamarack ST235/80R16 radial tire has a 10-ply rating and carries up to 3,520 lbs at 80 psi, while the sturdy 16" x 6" steel wheel is rated for 4,080 lbs. The radial construction reduces heat buildup and rolling resistance for better tread life and smoother tracking at highway speeds. Both the tire and wheel meet DOT, FMVSS, and SAE J1204 standards.

Ready to Tow Right Out of the Box: Pre-Mounted and Bead Balanced

No extra shop time needed—this assembly comes pre-mounted, inflated, and bead balanced using internal balancing beads. That means no external weights are required and you get a smooth, even ride right from the start. It’s built for people who want to bolt it on and roll without worrying about vibration or uneven wear.

Corrosion Resistance that Lasts: Silver Powder Coat over E-Coat Primer

The modular steel wheel resists rust thanks to its silver powder coat finish over an e-coat primer. That double layer of protection keeps the wheel looking clean even after exposure to rain, humidity, or salt spray. Beveled stud holes help keep the wheel tight on the hub so you don’t have to keep checking lug nut torque.

Reliable Grip in Wet or Icy Conditions: Siped Tread with Double Steel Belts

Traction stays consistent in changing weather. Tamarack radials use ribs with breaks that channel water off to the sides and sipes that cut thin grooves into the tread for better road contact on wet, snowy, or icy surfaces. Inside, double steel belts wrapped in nylon plies strengthen the casing and help prevent tread separation mile after mile.

Peace of Mind on Every Trip: Strong Warranty and Roadside Assistance

The combo includes a 5-year tire warranty, a 1-year wheel warranty, and a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee that covers replacement if the tire is damaged within the first year. It also comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years—24/7 coverage throughout the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico—so you’re never stranded with a flat.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

  • Replacement Special Trailer Tires for 2001 Glendale Golden Falcon 5th Wheel
Changing to a different load range rating in a special trailer tire can benefit you in terms of reduced tire operating temperature. Since heat is any tire's worst enemy using a higher-rated tire can mean they will run cooler and potentially be less likely to suffer heat-related damage. Changing tire sizes is another thing. Sometimes this is possible when there is enough clearance above and behind the tires (to allow for normal vertical suspension travel and for the inner sidewall to clear...

  • Recommended 235/85-16 Tires for Horse Trailer
Let's begin with possible reasons for the blowouts you've experienced. The number one nemesis of trailer tires or any tire for that matter is excessive heat build up. Overloading, under inflating and exceeding the speed rating of a tire will all cause heat to built up and contribute to its early demise. Also, worn or damaged suspension or axle components can also cause premature wear. Make a practice of examining the wear pattern on your tires. The wear should be uniform, if it's not...

Since at this time there aren't any 15 inch diameter trailer wheels with an 8 lug bolt pattern your best option would be to go with the closest tire size to what you have now that is mounted on a wheel with an 8 lug bolt pattern like the # LHACK133 which is a tire size ST235/80R16 mounted on a 16 inch wheel with an 8 lug bolt pattern. The overall diameter of the tire is 30.78 inches and the section width is 9.25 inch.

I recommend the Tamarack ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # LHCK401 as being the closest size to your current tire. This tire has a section width of 9.25" and height of 30.78". You will want to ensure the extra height and width will not be an issue with tire clearance on your trailer. This tire has a capacity of 3,520lbs. You will need to change to a 16" wheel versus your 16.5" wheels...

They would be close enough that there would be no issue going from one size to the other. For that you could use the part # LHACK133 for this size mounted on a wheel with a 8 lug bolt pattern or part # TA59VR for a 6 lug bolt pattern. This will include the Wheel # MX59FR you are looking at with a Tire # LHCK401 already mounted. The reason you see so many different weights is so they work in multiple applications. You can interchange those tires in an emergency, like if you are off road somewhere and you have a tire on your trailer blow. But you don't want to have two different tire sizes on your trailer for very long. I would only leave it on there long enough to get back to a safe location. • Does Wheel have to Change When Going from Tire Size 9.50 x 16.5 to 235/80-16

While there is some flexibility with the tire width and sidewall height there is no flexibility when it comes to wheel diameter fit. So if the goal was to go to a tire size of 235/80-16 you'd need a wheel and tire combo for that size like the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 part # LHACK133 for a wheel with an 8 lug bolt pattern or the part...
