Uneven movement between axles can make a trailer ride harsh and unstable. The tandem-axle hanger kit includes 7-3/4" long curved equalizers that let the axles move together smoothly so bumps and dips are absorbed evenly. This keeps your trailer tracking straight, reduces bounce, and helps the suspension move freely without binding.
Getting the correct hanger height is key to keeping the frame level and the axles aligned. This kit comes with (4) 2-1/2" tall front and rear hangers and (2) 3-1/4" tall center hangers. The taller center hanger helps balance the suspension geometry so both axles share the load evenly.
A suspension that’s too tight can’t flex the way it needs to. The included (8) 2-5/8" long shackle straps and (14) 3" long x 9/16" diameter shackle bolts with locknuts are designed for smooth movement. When installed snug—but not over-tightened—they allow the suspension to articulate freely, which prevents stress on the components and keeps travel comfortable.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the tandem-axle trailer hanger kit for double-eye springs. This leaf spring mounting kit includes your equalizers, your front, center and rear hangers as well as necessary hardware for the installation. Now, components for mounting the axle to the springs are sold separately. This kit is designed for use on trailers with tandem 2,000-pound to 7,000-pound axles. This kit would be great for building a new trailer, rebuilding an old trailer, repairing or upgrading your trailer's suspension system. The hangers and the shackle straps are made from a durable steel construction. The hangers are designed to be a weld-on installation.
Located at the top of each hanger you're going to notice two holes. These are for spot welds. This kit attached four leaf springs to your trailer frame. We're just going to go over the components that are included with the kit. You're going to get four 2-1/2-inch tall hangers, two for the front and two for the rear.
Two of them act as front hangers, the other two act as rear hangers. The 2-1/2-inch tall measurement is measured from the center of the 9/16-inch diameter hole to the top of the hanger. Then you're also going to get two 3-1/4-inch tall center hangers, 3-1/4-inch measurements taken from the center of the 9/16-inch diameter hole to the top of the hanger. The kit also comes with your equalizers. These are going to be two 7-3/4-inch long curved equalizers with 9/16-inch diameter center and end holes. The 7-3/4-inch measurement comes from measuring from the center of one outer hole to the center of the other outer hole, so center-on-center 7-3/4 inches.
You're going to get your shackle straps. You're going to get eight of these and they measure 2-5/8 of an inch long. That's measured from the center of one hole to the center of the other hole. Then you're also going to get the bolts and locknuts. You're going to get fourteen 3-inch long by 9/16-inch diameter shackle bolts and fourteen 9/16-inch diameter locknuts. The center hangers are going to suspend the equalizers from the trailer frame and at each end of the equalizers connects to one end of the leaf springs with the included hardware and shackle straps.
Then the other ends of the leaf springs connect directly to the front and rear hangers with the included hardware. That's going to do it for today's look at the tandem axle trailer hanger kit for double-eye springs.

Worked for a tandem 3500lb HD axle
We summer at a remote cabin in the Gila Nat'l Forest above Silver City NM. The last 5 miles to the cabin is extremely rough and puts a lot of wear and tear on both my truck and my trailer that we use to transport water, food, building materials and supplies to the cabin on a twice a month schedule. I have had suspension springs break, blown tires and damaged coupler. I ordered this kit to replace the entire hanger assembly because of wear and tear, cracks and loose fittings. I had to re-enforce the frame and weld up some cracks and wear points. The kit was great and worked perfect. The trailer is now like new and will serve me for years to come.

I purchased parts for my 14'x7'enclosed trailer as spares just in case I have a problem while on the road. I am planning a 12500-mile trip this summer and want to be prepared for any potential breakdown. The kit has all the parts necessary to attach two axles and 4 springs to a trailer. The parts are high quality and match the factory Dexter axle parts on my trailer exactly.
I ordered a tandom axle trailer suspension kit. I also ordered the bolt kit to go with it. I specifically asked the salesman if everything thing I needed to mount the axles was included, and he assured me that it was all there
When I opened the box and got ready to install the kit I found I only got one set of U bolts. It's like you don't have a clue about what you are selling! Very disappointed!
Good quality parts, new hanger bracket was 1/4” steel. Just had to get shackle straps separate, as this trailer had an odd length on it.
We purchased these parts for a custom build trailer for hauling heavy tool boxes over steep grades. Since completion of the build about a year ago, we have been using it and put a lot of miles on it. The hydraulic surge brake system makes it worry free. We can tow it behind different vehicles of differing weights and wheel bases and not worry about setting trailer braking, it is very nice. We will continue to use etrailer for our trailer needs.
I decided to reuse the existing brackets to save some welding, but all of the bolts and the equalizer went on without an issue and seemed to be of Excellent quality. I expect to be able to keep my 50 year old trailer for another 50 years.

Good value for the money. One of the two springs had an eye so egg shaped that I could not get the bolt through, not happy about that. Ruined one sleeve and took 30 min + to fix. I had to buy a set of 4 sleeves to replace1 sleeve which meant atrip into town. Other than that I am happy with the product and the quick delivery and e trailers service.
Received in exactly the time they said. One part (the y-shaped pieces) were the wrong size, but I have the correct size from a previous order, so it all worked out in the end.
It would be nice if you can order a kit with just the pieces you need (I don't need the hangers but need all of the other pieces.) Then, I have to order the bushings separately.

I Installed new suspension over a year ago and it has handled a lot of weight since. Still holds strong. Be sure to keep parts greased! And they will take you far.
I only needed the equalizers,shackles and bolts as mine were worn out. I already had new bushings left over from another project...... it was a great deal and a great fit. No problems, Fast Shipping and YES I will be using etrailer.com again!
i liked the time it took to get, i liked the ease at which it was to order, liked no shipping fees, i did not like that the spring plates were not for 1 3/4 or 2 in springs, the ones received were for 2 in to 2 1/8 in. i used the plates i had that allowed the u bolts ride much closer to springs. maybe thats the way they are made now. but if thats the case i would not buy them again. Also liked the prices but i thought i saw that the spring bushings came with the kit. It is very possible i was mistaken about that. All in all i would order from etrailer again.
