How Tight Should Shackle Bolts Be On Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT7

Question:

I have tighten down my axle hanger bracketts to 100 lbs and the bolt is still not flush with the face. I dont want to break them should I keep going or leave it .

When installing The Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT7 there should just enough free play in the shackles to allow them move. You will want to tighten the bolt down until the knurls go through the shackle link or spring/equalizer hanger and the bolt head is flush. The nuts should be snug and not tight.
