When your trailer carries serious weight, the axle needs a stable, well-fitted mount. This spring seat welds directly onto a 3-1/2" diameter round axle—typical for 8,000-lb setups—and gives your suspension a firm anchor point. The mild steel construction holds strong under load so your axle stays positioned right where it should.
A shifting axle can throw off your suspension geometry and wear parts unevenly. The flat side of this seat has a cutout that surrounds the raised knob on the leaf spring, locking it in place to prevent turning or movement. That secure fit keeps your axle centered and your ride predictable mile after mile.
You don’t need to hunt for a special part. This spring seat is designed to work with either 1-3/4" or 2" wide leaf springs, giving you flexibility to match your setup without modification. Two seats are required per axle, so once they’re welded on, your suspension geometry is set correctly and ready to roll.
Once welded to the axle tube, this seat provides a solid base that supports the full weight of the trailer evenly across the springs. It’s a small but critical piece that prevents axle twist, keeps alignment true, and helps your trailer track straight and smooth on the road.

Today we're going to be taking a look at a spring seat for typical 8,000 pound round trailer axles. The spring seat is a necessary component of your trailer's suspension system. When mounted with a 1 3/4" or 2" wide leaf spring, it adds extra support and provides proper positioning for the trailer axle. One spring seat is included with this part number. Please note that two spring seats are required for each axle. This would weld onto a 3 1/2" diameter axle which is a typical 8,000 pound trailer axle. It sits on top of a 1 3/4" or 2" wide spring.
It's got the cutout here on the flat side of the seat that surrounds the raised knob on the leaf spring, and that prevents turning or shifting. It simply provides extra support and secure positioning for the trailer axle. A few measurements to go over with you real quick starting with the overall length. Measuring edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement of around 4". Overall width edge to edge measures 1 7/8.
Overall height, you can see that that's going to measure about 1 1/4 tall. Then the cutout opening here, that curved area. That's going to give us a measurement of about 2 11/16" to 2 3/4", and that's at the widest point. That's going to do it for today's look at the spring seat for typical 8,000 pound round trailer axles.
