Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Nylon Bushing

Today we're going to be taking a look at a 1 3/4" long nylon bushing. This nylon bushing is designed for use with trailer suspension systems. You would insert this into the eye of a leaf spring to ensure proper sizing for suspension bolts. It's a durable nylon construction. It's going to do a good job at resisting corrosion and lasting a long time. Now, the inner diameter is going to be 1/2".

The outer diameter, that measures 7/8". The over all length, that's going to give us a measurement of 1 3/4" long. With this part number, you're going to get one nylon bushing. That's going to do it for today's look at the 1 3/4" long nylon bushing.

All products performed perfectly. Very happy with my purchases. Thanks again.

I can't say enough about etrailer.com. They always have what I need and they go out of their way to make sure I am satisfied. I am restoring an old boat trailer and the rubber spring bushings were completely worn out. etrailer had the perfect nylon replacement bushings for me. I got them in a couple days and they fit perfectly. Just a great place to do business.

by:

Purchased the nylon bushings but ultimately decided not to use them. I used brass bushings instead. The parts looked to be of high quality, but just decided that nylon/plastic bushings were not what I wanted to use.

by:

First time purchaser from etrailer.com. They kept me highly informed from order to product arrival. VERY FAST SHIPPING and great price. This bushing (TRBU11508) along with bushing # TRBU13871 were combined and used as a bushing for a lawn mower wheel. Fit perfectly and works great. Thank you very much etrailer!

by:

My trailer bushings were so old they fell out long ago. These installed easily into leaf springs. Worked great.

by:

I'm satisfied with these new nylon bushing. Made these old leaf spring packs new again. Added new shackle straps to the shackle attachment point and got rid of all the slop.

by:

My trailer is very Frankenstein and I had to scramble to find specific/unusual pieces. eTrailer made it easy to find the odd bushings I needed to finish the project. One year later, after regular use, the new suspension is holding up really well.

by:

Correct diameter inside and outside diameter for front spring. But a bit short on length for frame bracket, so I used thick flat washer for take up gap. So fare so good. Bushing length of 2 inches vs 1 3/4 inch would have been perfect, but you do not have any in that length. These should last, look strong and well made. Thanks eTrailer for keeping my trailer on the road.

by:

I ordered 7/8 OD by 1/2 ID bushings for my boat trailer and received the 3/4 OD by 9/16 ID .So I called Etrailer costumer service and with help from Sara we got the mistake resolved .The whole process was simple and easy . Shipping was fast .The part is quality and I expect it to last for a long time .

by:

these we're installed on a light utility trailer and towed only 2,or,3 times. However, these solved the out of alignment, and tracking of trailer. works as intended.

by:

I bought these TRBU11508 Nylon Bushings for the spring eye and shackle bushings on my 1977 3500# Spartan boat trailer. These are to replace the old two piece rubber ones that wear through all the time. This is the first time trying a hard bushing and it looks like it will hold up a lot better. They are easy to install and fit my spring eyes perfectly. Thanks etrailer for having a easy to use web site and fast shipping.

by:

Very good; trailer doesn't get used often, but is loaded when it does. Bushings still in great condition; no sign of deterioration or slop at all after a year. Much better than the old rubber bushings!

Shipping was fast, parts were good quality, and customer service was top notch. This was my second time ordering from etrailer. Thanks for giving customers true value for their hard earned money and a customer service experience I didn’t think existed anymore.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to replace the nylon bushings in my Trailex trailer, which were damaged when removing rusty bolts. As always, etrailer shipping was super-efficient.

@Nowhereman Happy to hear this! Did you install these on a work trailer?

by:

Good quality nylon bushing. We'll see how they stand up

by:

I bought these bushings because they are the exact size of the wooden bushings which were used on old Radio Flyer wagons. I had my wagon from when I was a kid in the fifties . I decided to restore it for my grandsons and all went well until I took the wheels of and found that they had used wooden bushings not metal and they had disintegrated . These nylon bushings were the same dimensions as the axle and hub.I did change the color because my grandson like yellow with green. The wagon should last another hundred years now.

by:

I think it's a great product and it will improve my trailers performance.

@Tim Glad we had the right part Tim, and things are holding up as they should. What kind of boat do you have, and how often do you get out? I have a Ranger and dabble in some local bass fishing tournaments here in Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain Lake. It has been a really cold season, I am happy the boat ramps will not be frozen this weekend so I can get out there and catch some fatties =)

by:

I got these nylon bushings to replace some 49 year old rubber dog bone style leafspring bushings on a boat trailer I am restoring. I pressed these in with a big c clamp and wood blocks on each side. Just a turn at a time with a pause in between until they are seated evenly. They look as though they will restore the towing back to solid specs. Stiffened up the suspension tremendously. I am impressed. Thank you William.

by:

Part fit perfectly and shipping was qui ck.

by:

I think your product is good. The reason for the one star removed is the size of the hole, .520 thousands, that is a lot bigger than .500 (what it should be). I could see .005 bigger but not more. Get that fixed and you will have a great product. I supplied a picture of how I used it. I cut the bushings 3/8 inch wide drilled and tapped a 4-40 tap for a screw.
What you see is a sail rig for a Land Yacht. The bushings holed the boom and Vang in their proper positions on the mast.

Hi I did some searching for bushings for this old ski-mobile trailer I have.
I've owned it for 40 years. I rebuilt it once before, bushings on the leaf springs too. I also rebuilt the frame of it, This year it got a new 3x3" trailer tung & latch, I looked at the leaf springs, however they seamed loose at the hinge point. I looked & found your website, these new bushing fit perfectly into the spring the trailer is nice & tight again, no rattles!
This was the perfect part for my repair.
Thanks so much!

  • Replacement Leaf Spring Bushings for 1-3/4 inch Springs and 2 Inch Hangers
With those dimensions, we have the Nylon Bushing - 1/2" Inner Diameter, 7/8" Outer Diameter - 1-3/4" Long # TRBU11508. These will work as replacements for your springs, but they will not give you that outer flange. You would need to use flat washers to give you proper spacing since your hangers are 2 inches wide. The 2 inch wide leaf springs are normally the slipper style springs instead of the double eye springs like what you have. We don't have bushings that are stepped like what...

  • Availability of Nylon Trailer Leaf Spring Bushings
We do offer nylon bushings for trailer leaf springs as separate replacement parts. For example, we have part # SP05-080 from Redline, which is a set of four (4) two-piece nylon bushings. These measure 9/16-inch inner diameter, 1-5/16-inch outer diameter and 2-inches in length. Other sizes are also offered and these are linked below. # TRBU12566 # SP05-060 # TRBU11508 # TRBU11561 # TRBU11566 # TRBU11568 # 721590 # TRBU13871 # TRBU11506

  • Does Trailer Suspension Equalizer TREQ1304 Require Bushings
The large center hole on equalizer # TREQ1304 should be 7/8 inches in diameter. I checked your order and the equalizer bushings you bought were # TRBU13871. These have a 7/8 inch INNER diameter but the outer diameter is 1-1/8 inches which is why they will not fit. You can use bushings that have an outer diameter of 7/8 inches. We have # TRBU11568 but it is 1-3/4 inches long which is 1/4 inch shorter than the width of the equalizer. It has an inner diameter of 9/16 inches. We also have...

  • Replacement Shackle Straps and Bushings for Trailer Suspension
Shackle straps for leaf spring suspensions are usually measured from the two hole centers. For example, part # 18-11GALV is 2-1/4-inches long measured from hole center to hole center; the holes themselves are 9/16-inch diameter; and the overall length and width of the item are 3-1/2- and 1-1/4-inches respectively. All shackle straps are linked for you. For a nylon bushing with dimensions close to your requirement we have part # TRBU11508 which is 1/2-inch inner diameter, 7/8-inch outer...

  • Replacement Nylon Bushings for Stratos Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
You will want to select replacement bushings for your tandem-axle trailer suspension to match the originals so it is best to remove a spring and bushing. In the 1/2-inch inside diameter measurement you took we offer two nylon bushings. TruRyde # TRBU11506 has a 1/2-inch inside diameter and an 11/16-inch outside diameter. It is 1-3/4-inches long to match the width of your leaf springs. TruRyde # TRBU11508 also has a 1/2-inch inside diameter and a 7/8-inch outside diameter. It is also 1-3/4-inches...

  • Does Equalizer for 2" Wide Slipper Springs # TREQ1304 Come with Bushing
You will want a center bushing for the center hole of the hanger part # TREQ1304 that you referenced. We have # TRBU11508 which has a 7/8 inch outer diameter and 1-3/4 inches long but with a 1/2 inch inner diameter. The bolt on the slipper side does not need a bushing but the side that is designed for a spring eye does need a bushing. Most likely the spring has a bushing.

  • Measured Dimensions of TruRyde Nylon Bushing TRBU11508
I pulled a sample of the TruRyde Nylon Bushing # TRBU11508 so that I could take measurements with a precision caliper. In some cases a parts actual dimensions may vary slightly from its description. Keep in mind that its fit depends in part on the eye of the particular leaf spring; one that is worn a bit will most likely be a slip fit, while a brand new spring might need some pressure to install the bushing. The specs for this item indicate an inside diameter of 1/2-inch, an outside diameter...

  • Availability of 1/2 inch Inner Diameter Bushing for Trailer Leaf Spring

  • Can Rubber Bushing of Leaf Spring be Replaced with # TRBU11508
You can change the leaf spring bushing material if you want to. If the dimensions of what you need match the # TRBU11508 that you referenced this would work well. The dimensions of this are 1/2" Inner Diameter, 7/8" Outer Diameter - 1-3/4" Long.
