  • Low Maintenance Design: Virtually no upkeep needed for long-term reliability.

Features to know about

Smooth Ride on Any Road: Aeon Rubber Springs Absorb the Shock

Rough pavement and uneven ground can make a trailer bounce and rattle. The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension uses Aeon progressive-rate rubber springs that compress and stiffen as the load increases. They absorb road shock and keep your trailer level, whether it’s empty or fully loaded. This design smooths out every mile so cargo stays protected and the ride feels steady from start to finish.

Quiet and Stable Towing: Pivoting Arms Keep Tires on the Ground

A stable trailer tracks better and tows easier. The Silent Ride’s pivoting arms help all tires stay planted, even on bumpy terrain or when loads are off-center. Each side moves independently to minimize body roll, reduce sway, and keep things quiet inside and out. It’s a big upgrade over leaf springs that often bounce or rattle when light or empty.

Built Tough and Low-Maintenance: Heavy-Duty Steel with Powder Coat Finish

Long trips and rough roads demand strong construction. The suspension units are made from heavy-duty steel with a rust-resistant powder coat finish for lasting durability. The rubber bushings and springs are designed to stay engaged at all times, cutting down on wear points and maintenance. It’s a system meant to work season after season without constant attention.

Straightforward Setup: Bolt- or Weld-On Design with 2" x 2" Crossmember Requirement

Installing the Silent Ride is simple for anyone familiar with trailer work. It fits single-axle trailers with 2-3/8" round axles and a 3,500 lb weight capacity. The system bolts or welds to a required 2" x 2" hollow steel crossmember with 3/16" wall thickness, connecting both sides into one solid unit. Axle seats are included for welding onto the beam so alignment stays true once everything’s in place.

Reliable Performance for the Long Haul: Backed by Strong Warranties

This suspension is built to last, backed by a 5-year limited warranty plus a 10-year warranty on the rubber bushings and springs. It delivers quiet, consistent performance that leaf springs just can’t match, giving you a smoother, more controlled tow every time you hit the road.

Fantastic!

by:
We used this on an aluminum utility trailer that originally had a leaf spring setup. Easy to install, we just flipped the trailer upside down...
Turned a so-so trailer into an awesome one. Thanks!

Had some problems with missing parts, but customer service was on the ball. got rest of parts 4 days later.. So to say customer was very helpful is an understatement. Installment was easy. Instructions were helpful. etrailer has my vote....
by:
Installation went well. Not yet used for a heavy load. Switched from leaf spring suspension and empty doesn't seem to bounce any less than prior to the switch. Moderate load does show some improvement.

The description isn't very clear, I thought 2000lbs suspension would mean 2000lbs per side, not 2000lbs combined capacity. Okay I get it, it was ignorance on my part, but I wish the description would've been a little clearer. The company wasn't interested in helping me out, other than happily selling me a new one at the normal price. There again, hey it's not their problem I guess. Even so at 2000Lbs, the suspension sags like crazy and doesn't ride any better than the traditional, much cheaper leaf spring system.

Very nice product

I’m really torn about these. On the one hand, they are silent and tow really really well. Until you hit a bump. So far, our microwave broke, the hood on our range came loose, and the Aeon (sp?) dampeners should ideally be taller to prevent the axle from hitting the frame when a pothole is hit. I have contacted the manufacturer and they have been super supportive and sent me 5k springs, but it didn’t fix the bottoming out issue. I am at a loss as to what to do next. So am I happy? Not really. Did it solve my issue? Kinda. What would make it perfect is a taller spring or some way to adjust the articulating arms so they are so closed (like scissors) and give the axle a reason to hit the frame. That jarring caused the microwave to break and the hood to come loose. We didn’t have these issues with the leaf springs.
by:
It is quiet, but… Since they are both mounted to a solid axle it doesn’t provide any sway from side to side. It is very bouncy on uneven side to side bumps and doesn’t track well. I’m sure this works well in a spindle configuration when spindles/wheels are independent. I ordered new leaf springs to remove them. Quite disappointed.

Thanks for your review James. We're sorry to hear the Timbren Silent Ride suspension didn't perform as expected on your trailer. One thing worth checking is whether the system is operating within its intended weight range, as trailers that are significantly underloaded can sometimes experience a firmer, bouncier ride. It's also important to verify that the suspension components are installed square and that the axle alignment is correct, since alignment can affect tracking performance.

@KateF thank you Kate. Yes we checked mounting, torque and the weight is well under the capacity at 1550 lbs GVW loaded. It seems the problem noted by mechanics is the design. The solid axle mounted directly to rigid side swing arms does not allow for any flex, or sway, side to side. On even bumps it’s great, like speed bumps. But a bump on one side unsettles the trailer and aggressively re-arranges cargo. I wish I had read this review before I bought this product. I like the idea of the product, and may still consider the axle less design moving forward, but for now, for the sake of my cargo and safety, I’m going back to leaf springs.

Probably the best upgrade I will ever do to our Roof Top Tent trailer. Rides absolutely amazing. I’ll never run leaf springs again.

Man! These have been so awesome on our trailer over the past year. We’ve been on many trips without issue. They ride great and still feel as solid as day 1. I’ll change from leaf springs to these on my next trailer for sure!

by:
Ok, probably overkill and certainly makes for a premium utility trailer. But compared to other trailers, there’s zero rattling and bouncing around. Install went better than expected too. Did have to weld quick to keep the heat down since the rubbers are right on the other side!
by:
I like the product. But the instructions aren’t the best one part of the instructions tell you to bolt the cross member on then when you look at the picture they tell you to weld it. If you look at your videos they showed a bracket on the front of the hanger that you can bolt it on. To weld it on you have to be careful not to burn the rubber part of the suspension that is right where they want you to weld it.

I have had both leaf suspensions and torsion suspensions on pull behind campers. I decided to try these when I had to replace my torsion axles. The Timbrens are without a doubt the best suspension I have ever used. The trailer rides much smoother as it creates an independent suspension for each wheel. The rubber pad absorption design adds to the smoothness. The camper is also much more stable when towing and I don,t end up with stuff all over the floor of the camper from a rough ride. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend this suspension system.

  • Where Do I Find A 3,500 lb Axle With A 3" diameter
Hello Andy, good question. The standard axle tube diameter for a 3,500 lb axle is 2-3/8". All of the 3,500 lb axles made today will have this same diameter. The 3" diameter 3,500 lb axles are an older design that is basically no longer made, so the # TSR3500S06 kit would really only be applicable for older trailers. For the standard 2-3/8" 3,500 lb axles you can use part # TSR3500S04. If you need an axle with a 3" tube diameter you would have to go with an axle rated between 5,200 and...

  • Recommended Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for 2-3/8" Axles
Hey Ron. The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension item # TSR3500S04 would be a great way to replace your torsion axle and I do recommend. The alignment process is detailed in the installation instructions, I have linked below. I also attached a screenshot. You'll need to ensure your frame is straight and do some math. You'll also need to pick up a 2" x 2" hollow steel crossmember. This is going to keep the suspension aligned after you install it on your trailer. How wide is your trailer and...

  • Can I Add the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension to My Golftream Trailmaster 199DD?
Hello Mike, That looks like a cozy relaxing spot! Yes, the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Single Axle Trailers # TSR3500S04 will work great for you just as long as your axle is round as is rated at 3,500. I do not have a database that I can reference to see what was put on what trailer, I did a search and I see the 3,500 pound axle is typically on the Golftream Trailmaster 199DD, but you will want to double check your axle tag. The # TSR3500S04 will also need a hollow, 2" x 2" steel...

  • Suspension Kit Recommendation for Overland Custom Trailer with 3.5K Dexter Axle
For an off-road application I highly recommend a Timbren Silent Ride Suspension system which is available for a 2-3/8" Round 3.5K Axle # TSR3500S04 or a 3" Round 3.5K Axle # TSR3500S06. These give you a little more control and perform better than your traditional axle leaf spring setup as you can see in the linked video. If you'd like to stick with the traditional leaf spring setup then I recommend the following parts: Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit - # APS4 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring -...

  • How Much Will Springs of the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension # TSR3500S04 Compress Under 2K lbs
The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension # TSR3500S04 will have about 1" to 1-1/2" of compression with 2,000 lbs of trailer weight and they are designed to be trailing arm. I confirmed this with my contact at Timbren.

  • Dimensions of Timbren Silent Ride Suspension Single Axle Trailer #TSRTSR3500S04
I checked with Timbren and the distance you are looking for is 11-7/16” from the center of the axle to the front of the bracket that attaches the kit to your frame. Timbren also told me to tell you that this dimension will only be exact if the trailer does not have a load on it. With more weight on the trailer the dimension will increase slightly. The crossmember will still clear the frame by 9/16 inch. I added a picture that shows the dimension you asked about as well as a few more.

  • Correct Timbren Silent Ride Suspension System for a T@B Tear Trailer
According to my research, your T@B trailer has torsion axles which means the Timbren Silent Ride Suspension System like part # TSR3500S05 will not be a good fit for you. Instead, you will want to use the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension part # ASR35HDS02. This kit will replace the torsion axles you have now and provide up to a 4" lift and the ability to run larger off-road tires. For a compatible hub you will also need the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 42865-KIT.

  • Do You Have To Use A Full Axle When Installing The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension TSR3500S04?
Hi Larry! That is a very good question. I wasn't sure so I reached out to Timbren directly to make sure I was getting you accurate information. Basically, they said the Silent Ride Suspension for Single Axle Trailers w/ 2-3/8" Round Axles - 3,500 lbs # TSR3500S04 should only be used with an axle going all the way across the trailer. Having just the stub of the axle being secured, they cannot guaranty capacity or structural integrity of the system, so I don't think I would go this route. I...
