Hello Andy, good question. The standard axle tube diameter for a 3,500 lb axle is 2-3/8". All of the 3,500 lb axles made today will have this same diameter. The 3" diameter 3,500 lb axles are an older design that is basically no longer made, so the # TSR3500S06 kit would really only be applicable for older trailers. For the standard 2-3/8" 3,500 lb axles you can use part # TSR3500S04.

If you need an axle with a 3" tube diameter you would have to go with an axle rated between 5,200 and 7,000 lbs. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Hey Andy, did you end up finding an axle that worked for your trailer setup? Knowing which option you went with could help others trying to match a 3,500 lb axle to their suspension kit.

@JesseM Yes I was able to find a lippert brand 3" diameter axle with loose perches I welded on where I wanted. It had the correct ends to reuse my 3500 lb axle brakes.
