Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at the 6 Leaf Double Eye Spring for your 6,000 pound trailer axle. Now this double eye leaf spring acts as part of your trailer suspension system by providing an attachment point for a 6,000 pound axle. It is made from sturdy steel construction and it's designed to flex to absorb road shock and provide a smooth ride. It's gonna reduce wear and tear on your trailer, and this is going to ensure a level ride even on bumpy and uneven surfaces.
Now, double eye leaf springs attached to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hangar with the suspension bolt. The other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hangar. These straps allow the spring to move and pivot so it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem or triple axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs.

The eye diameter with the bushing, that's 9/16 of an inch. Without the bushing, it's 11/16 of an inch. And again, this is a 1 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 leaf spring.
And the leaf thickness is 3/8 of an inch, and the spring capacity is 3000 pounds. And again, this is designed for a 6,000 pound trailer axle. Let me see if I can line my tape measure up here. And I am measuring center of eye to center of eye. So as you can see, we are sitting right at 26 inches, center to center.
And the spring width, which you probably can't see here, is one and three quarters inches. And to ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs. Well, that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. These Springs didn't last 3 months less than 2,000 miles before they were all flat and the leafs started to break. I thought they would be an upgrade from the original 6,000 lb Springs since these are rated for 7,000 lbs but they were not even close to as strong as the original 6K Springs. I also purchased these because they stated they were made in the USA and I was hoping for a higher quality than the Chinese made. I have since replaced them with Chinese made 7K Springs from Amazon that were half the price and they are holding up very well.

Perfect OEM replacement for our 2019 Grand Design 395 (measure center to center with ALL the weight off the axle). Comes with nylon bushings installed but we ordered the Dexter bronze bushing kit which was also a perfect OEM replacement and fit. Springs flattened and bent backwards on first trip fishing 120 miles round trip
Purchased these 5 leaf springs to replace original set (4 leaf) on my 20 year old fifth wheel toy hauler. I went with 5 leaf because I tend to load it a bit heavy so I’m looking for support not to increase payload. Fit and finish are great plus I like the fact they are painted. Besides price I also chose these because they are apparently made in America (doesn’t say so on the springs) hence the 4stars. On my test drive after installing them I can feel stability has improved and trailer not so “hoppy”. I’ve made a few purchases from Etrailer and they never disappoint great value, fast shipping and communication!!
The leaf spring were the correct fit for my tri axle 5th wheel RV I had to reuse my original wet bolts because ETrailer did not send the correct lock nuts with there bolts.
