Leaf springs can’t do their job if the bolts are loose or worn. This 9/16" diameter shackle bolt mounts a double-eye spring securely inside the front or rear hanger so the suspension can move freely. It’s the solid connection point your suspension needs to stay steady and flexible on rough roads.
Getting the right hardware makes all the difference. This bolt measures 3" under the head with a 2-3/8" usable length, giving the perfect amount of thread engagement for standard leaf spring setups. The 9/16"-18 fine threads and 13/16" head diameter make it easy to snug down just right—tight enough to remove slack but not so tight that it binds the hangers.
A suspension bolt takes a beating mile after mile. This one’s made from Grade 5 steel for dependable strength that holds up under load. It’s designed to keep your suspension connected and stable without stretching or rounding off, even after years of use.
To keep the bolt from backing off, pair it with a mechanical locknut like part # TRFA916DLNZ (sold separately). The nut keeps the connection tight and secure without the need for a heavy torque setting—just tighten until the slack is gone and you’re good to go.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this shackle bolt for double eye leaf springs. Now, this grade five nine sixteenths of an inch in diameter shackle bolt is used to mount a double eye spring inside a front or rear hanger on your trailer's leaf springs suspension. This is going to work with the lock nut identified by the item number that you see there on your screen and you can just take that number and put it in the search field of our website and that will take you to that lock nut if you are also in need of that. And just to give you some overall dimensions of this bolt so you can be confident that this is going to work for you, I'm including a diagram on the screen that's going to show virtually every dimension that you're going to need. As you can see, the length under the head is three inches long.
As I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, the bolt diameter is nine sixteenths of an inch. The usable length is two and three eighths inches. The thread length is five eighths of an inch. The thread size is nine sixteenths of an inch by 18 fine and the head diameter is 13 sixteenths of an inch. I’m sure the bolt is of fine quality but they refused to send the right size nut to fit this bolt.

I did have to call to get the right parts I needed.l couldn't work the site very well for vehicle application.

We do list in the product description that the nut part # TRFA916DLNZ is sold separately. We also offer the nut and bolt together part # TRFA73Z916DLNZ.
Just what I needed and fast shipping!
Delivered on time seems good quality installed but not put to use yet, time will tell, this item was replaced by a cheap china made product that did not hold to it's specs, hopefully these will.

The parts are great. I just didn't receive part of my order. I'm missing 2 u-bolts. I ordered 2 packs of 2 and only 1 showed up.

Exact fit. I just wish I had bought 2 more. I forgot to take in consideration the ones I left on the old springs when I took them off.
Abbey was extremely knowledgeable and helped me put together an order to totally rebuild the trailer brakes from back plates to drums, to bolts and bushings.
