Video Transcript for Review of Trimax Locks Trailer Tongue Lock - Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock - TMX98SR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Trimax adjustable trailer coupler latch lock. Now, this adjustable lock is going to give you several benefits. This has, number one, an adjustable fit. So this lock is designed to fit latch spans of seven eighths of an inch, two and a half inches, and three and a half inches, making this versatile for different trailer couplers, and I have just an example of a coupler here, and the pin diameter is a quarter of an inch, so let me go ahead and pop this open with one of the keys that's included here.

So you get two keys. I'm just gonna run this through just like that, and I'm gonna try to get as tight a fit as possible. And so that's the tightest I can go here, so as you can see, that's going to keep this from being able to be unlocked. So it either will stay secured onto the ball or if it's uncoupled, it'll keep that secure, so you can't couple that and possibly steal your trailer. So it's gonna be very easy operation, you just stick the key in and you give it a quarter of a turn, then that's going to allow you to remove the head, and then ...

So very simple to use, the adjustable nature of the lock is just a great benefit to make sure that you can get that tightest fit possible. So this is going to give you a strong locking mechanism to prevent unauthorized access or theft of your trailer as I mentioned, and it's durable. The pin itself is made of hardened steel and the heads are going to be aluminum and it has this chrome finish, so it's going to look great. So it's gonna hold up really well against corrosion and the elements that it's going to be constantly exposed to. Easy to use, two keys are included, and the two keys are harder to duplicate, so it enhances just the security that this offers.

It's gonna work with most standard trailer couplers. It's gonna make it a practical choice for different towing needs, and so this lock is gonna be ideal if you're looking for a sturdy, adjustable, and secured trailer coupler lock to help prevent theft and unauthorized hitching. Now, if you do decide that this is the lock that's gonna work best for you, we would love to hear back from you. For instance, you could leave a review on this product page just letting us know how you're using this, if you enjoy the benefits that you're receiving from this. You can shoot us an email, give us a phone call, and we would really love to see pictures of your towing setup as well.

Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today, I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

  • Lock For Hit-N-Hitch Coupler On 2021 Sundowner Horse Trailer
Courtney, once the # AL43DQ is in place, it completely covers the latch housing. That’s intentional - thieves can’t access the latch or the ball cavity. To hook up, you’ll remove the lock (takes just seconds with the key) then re-install when you unhitch. You may be getting confused with a lock pin that goes in the coupler's latch and that can stay on when you're towing. Something like Trimax Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock - 1/4" Pin - 7/8" to 3-1/2" Spans # TMX98SR. Do you typically...
