For how small it is, this utility light shines with impressive clarity. The Great White series uses a single ultra-bright white diode paired with a custom-cut lens that focuses output right where you need it. At 5000K color temperature and 30 lumens, it throws a clean, bright white light perfect for clear visibility when space is limited. You get strong illumination without the heat or power draw of old incandescent bulbs.
Moisture and dirt can quickly ruin lesser lights, but this one’s sealed up tight. The housing and lens form a watertight barrier, so it can be submerged without letting water in. That makes it reliable even when you’re dealing with rain, mud, or washdowns. You won’t have to worry about moisture fogging up the lens or corroding the wiring—it’s built for real-world use.
At 3" long, 1-1/16" tall, and only 5/8" deep, this light’s slim design fits just about anywhere. The surface-mount setup lays flat against the surface using the included hardware, and the 2" center-to-center holes make alignment easy. You only need a small hole for the wiring—no bulky brackets or adapters to fuss with. Once it’s mounted, it stays out of the way but keeps on shining bright.
This LED doesn’t just look good—it lasts up to 50 times longer than an incandescent bulb while using less power. At 12V DC, it draws minimal current but gives you steady brightness every time. Since there are no filaments to burn out or bulbs to replace, you can wire it up once and know it’s ready whenever you need light.
No complicated connections here—just two wires to deal with. One lead for power and one for ground make installation quick and foolproof. Whether you’re upgrading old lights or adding new ones, the straightforward wiring means less time tinkering and more time getting your setup ready to go.

Today we're going to take a look at the Peterson Great Light surface-mount LED utility or trailer license plate light. Now this is a nice, compact LED trailer light that'll function as either a utility light or a license plate light.A single LED light like this will meet the DOT requirements when mounted properly above your license plate. And LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights, because they'll last 50 times longer. They're more efficient, because they'll provide brighter light with less power output, and no bulbs to replace, or no brittle filaments. This one is a clear lens over a white LED. You can see it has a nice, black housing to it. It is a surface-mount design.
It mounts to the trailer with this built-in bracket. The hardware, you can see the two screws is included. Two holes right there. You just put your screws in there, and you're going to attach it just like that. Now this is a two-wire design. You can see it includes the power lead and a ground wire.
They're both black wires, so you can use either one for either function. And at the end of this video, I am going to hook it up to some 12-volt power just to show you how bright it is.This light is DOT, Department of Transportation, compliant. It is made in the USA. Voltage again is 12 volts.give you a few dimensions on this. The overall length from one end to the other is right at three inches.
The height of it, bottom to the top, is right at one and 1/16th inches tall. Total depth on it, the widest point, is going to be right at 5/8th inches. The mounting holes, the two mounting holes center-to-center on those is two inches.Again I'm going to hook this up to some 12-volt power, and again it doesn't matter which wire you hook to which. They'll work either way. We got it.
Go ahead and turn it on. And you can see with it on, there's your single LED. Very bright light.Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And you can see, if you attach that above a license plate light, it'll give you light to light up the whole plate.Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Peterson Great White surface-mount LED utility or trailer license plate light.

Worked out great on the RV
LIGHT WORKS GREAT EASY TO INSTALL
Great products and quick delivery. All the lights fit even better than expected
Very good light! And inexpensive! It’s helpful that it directs the light downward
Great small led light. I used it for the stair well in my coach
This is a very nice product. I have purchased 3 of these. Excellent design and great looking product. You cant go wrong with this item if your needing a low profile light.
Great for night light application at foot of camper door.
Perfect for my application to light up trailer winch area.
Great light, easy to mount, not polarity sensitive, and bright enough to illuminate the license plate.
Perfect license plate LED, AND, the perfect storage box LED as well!
Low profile
Great little minimalistic license plate lights. They have been dunked into salt water and fresh water every time we launch our boat. Never had an issue and still just as bright as when new.
Good amount of white light projected directionally, great for license plates, steps, etc.

I used this for a camper license plate light its bright as well as for two foot-lights, one installed below the entry door on each side, pointed downward to mark the step into the camper. They work well.
Nice quality
Exactly what I was looking for.
I have et to install item. However, the response from time of order to receiving it was amazing.
Easy to install, fits flush against the trailer and solid brightness. I used this on the opposite side of my license plate holder so that both sides have lighting for me to see at night when towing....it lights up the lane markers on both sides of the trailer for my auto hauler.
Worked on first connection. Appears well made and solid. Looks Great.
Great slim lines but still good coverage for small trailer plate.
Have not verified submersion waterproofness, but fine so far in rain.
Four Stars because both mounting screws stripped heads/broke off during installation into tight aluminum hole, and there is no option for routing wires straight back from under light, so drilling new exposed hole was necessary; not a big deal, just seemingly an easy option to build in and may be a limiting factor for some.
I was looking for a small, low profile license plate light and this one fits the bill.
Ample down lighting with no glare from the rear. Works as expected.

One year follow-up: still works great!
Product is fine. Choice of shipping company sucks. took 13 days to go from Missouri to Nevada. USPS should not be used for parts shipping! Finalastion of customers flatbed install was delayed because of the enept ability to select the proper freight carrier
Exactly what I ordered
Works great! I needed a low profile solution for my trailer tag lighting, and this was a great option!
These lights have held up to any weather and have stayed consistently bright. No flickering or dying of the led diodes.
We’ve added it to our custom made swing out for our Lexus gx460. You can follow our work at integratedmetalworks on Instagram!
I used it on my Jeep when I installed an aftermarket bumper. The light is perfect because it is small & contoured making it not only look better than all the other license plate lights out there, it doesn’t get snagged on things either. The light is bright and compact.
