This 4-1/4" amber incandescent light gives you dependable brightness for both parking and turn signal functions. It operates on a 12V DC system and draws 2.4 amps for turn signals and 0.49 amps for parking lights. When your trailer hits wet roads or the boat ramp, this light stays sealed and functional. Installation stays tidy with a recessed mount that uses a grommet (A45GB – sold separately) for a snug fit. If you’d rather mount it externally, an optional bracket (BK45BB – sold separately) gives you that flexibility while still using the same grommet for support. That means a cleaner look and solid setup without extra wiring hassles.

Today we're going to be reviewing part number ST45AB. This is a sealed 4 inch round amber trailer light from Optronics. The amber round light is going to function as your parking and turn signal light. It's going to feature a sealed water proof housing and lens unit, as well as a heavy duty long life bulb. It's also going to feature a shock proof socket that's going to guarantee a long bulb life. This is an incandescent bulb.
Here on the back of the housing you can see the connection point. This is designed to accept your industry standard 3 prong plug. It will flush mount with a mounting grommet and plug, which are required for complete installation, and they are going to be sold separately. You can find the plug right here at etrader.com with part number A45PB, and you can find the mounting grommet with part number A45GB. The diameter of the light is going to give us a measurement of 4 1/4 of an inch. It's going to give us an overall depth of 2 1/16th of an inch.
We're going to go ahead and connect it to our external power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it, and with our overhead lights turned off. All we have to do is take out 3 prong connection, slide it into the connector there on the back. You can see here that it's going to provide a nice consistent signal. This is going to be for the parking light function, and then when we apply our turn signals, you can see how it's going to become brighter, sending out an even stronger signal. im actually disappointed. the first one i put in filled up with water and burned up the first time i backed in the boat. i took off and seen it was cracked, had to have been manufacturing as i only live 2 miles from the ramp. and now the 2nd one has already went out. i guess i'll spend more money to replace the 2 flawed trailer lights. the original was 7 years old, now i've went through 2 of yours.
The amber lights are of poor quality. I have red, amber, and white lights on my boat trailer in various places (side, reverse, back/break lights). I replaced both amber lights because the went bad. The amber lights have both blow out...again. These are the only lights that have burned out on my 5 year old boat trailer.
Exactly what I was looking for. I have four of these lights on my Dart trailer, two red and two amber. One went out in the middle of a trip last year and it was a couple of days before I found a replacement at a truck stop. Now I'm prepared for the next time.
I replace these lights on my master-tow trailer constantly. The filaments just can't tolerate the lack of suspension on the trailer when it's empty and they blow out.
No issues with the light other than that. I would recommend investing in the LED replacements rather than these.
My husand has installed an aluminum flat bed on our pickup truck to replace the original rusted out one. He used the amber turn signal/ parking light to replace the red lights that came with the flat bed. The lights were a perfect fit and are just what we needed.
