If you ever back into the water or drive in heavy rain, this light is ready for it. The polycarbonate housing and acrylic lens are sonically sealed into one waterproof unit, keeping out moisture completely. That means no fogging, corrosion, or shorted circuits—just reliable LEDs that keep shining whether you’re in wet conditions or dry.
Rough roads can shake lights loose or kill fragile bulbs. This one uses surface-mount technology (SMT) so each LED is soldered directly to the circuit board for a stronger connection. That design helps it handle vibration and shock better than traditional through-hole wiring. It also improves heat distribution and keeps the housing thin without sacrificing durability.
Wiring and mounting are straightforward with this light. It fits into a recessed mount with a grommet (A54GB – sold separately) and plugs right into any industry-standard 2-prong connector like the Optronics A46PB or A49PB pigtail (sold separately). Once installed, it sits neatly in place for a clean look and secure fit that stays put on the road.
You don’t have to guess if it meets standards—this light is DOT compliant and meets FMVSS 108 and CMVSS requirements for clearance and side marker use. The P2 rating gives a 90-degree total beam spread that covers what you need for legal, visible lighting on your trailer. It’s built to perform safely, efficiently, and without the hassle of bulb changes thanks to LEDs rated to last up to 50 times longer than incandescent ones.

Today, we're reviewing part number MCL155RB from Optronics. This is their GloLight, sealed, two inch,round trailer,LED clearance, and side marker light. It has six LEDs,whichare also called diodes, and so you get plenty of light out of this. It's three quarters of an inch deep this way and two inches across, two inch diameter that way. The LEDs will burn thousands of hours. They burn coolly so you won't hurt your fingers when you touch it.
There are no filaments to break, no bulbs to burn out or to be replaced. It also runs more efficiently and you get brighter light with less power. The housing is sealed and water-proof and this flushmount. In order to mount it, you do need a grommet, a two inch grommet and if you don't have one, Etrailer does offer this one. This is the Optronics 2-inch ground grommet flush mount, part number A54GB, that is sold separately. The light pops right in.
It is tight when it's new, so it's difficult to insert it completely during a brief demo, but it's not that hard to get in when you give it a little umph. When it is inserted completely, you do get a flush mount. The back of the grommet is open so you have clear access to your plugs. Let me put the grommet aside. You also need a two wire pigtail plug to install this light.
If you don't have one, Etrailer has this Optronics2-Wire Pigtail Plug sold separately. This is part number A46PB. I'm going to plug this in to the light. There, that's in there pretty good. We are going to use a portable power source today to demonstrate the light. First, I'm going to connect the white wire.
This is your ground. It has a ring terminal and it gets installed on a clean unpainted metal surface. The black wire is your 12 volt. Now we can turn off our overhead light, and you'll see how brightly that shines. Now this has a unique bull's eye design when it's lighted, and you can see, it has six rings that go around the center. That's your bull's eye design and it is proprietary to Optronics. You see how brightly that shines. It's a very powerful light. Now we can turn our overhead lights back on. I'll turn off the power. This light does meet all the automotive lighting requirements of the Department of Transportation and there is a lifetime warranty on the LEDs, and that's it for part number MCL155RB, the Optronics GloLight, sealed, two inch, round trailer, LED clearance, and side marker lights. .

I have a Triton trailer which had a blown out incandescent tail light.
I decided to upgrade all the lights to LED.
It took me only 30 minutes to change out all 13 lights. I used a little silicone spray and a small screwdriver and the old lights came right out of the rubber grommets and the new lights fit perfect.
They are really bright and makes a big difference, glad I did the upgrade!
Delivery was quick and installation took less than 3 minutes, mostly making sure the plug was secure in the lamp.
