Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Review of the Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for 7K Axles

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at this agricultural trailer hub assembly, rated for 7,000-pound axles with a six-on-six lug pattern. So folks, this is gonna be a great trailer hub assembly for your farm implements, trailers, that kind of thing. It is designed for off-road non-braked axles, and it has a speed rating of a max 20 miles per hour. So again, off-road application only for agricultural use. Now let me zoom in here and show you some of the features.

So the first thing I wanna point out is it has a nice greaser fitting right here that's gonna make greasing up everything inside, your maintenance and everything just a little bit easier. So you can put grease right into the center there where you need it on the wheel bearings around the stud. You're gonna get the seal, the outer and inner bearing, the cap, the whole hub assembly. The races are already pressed in from the factory, so it's literally just grease everything up, slap it together on your implement, and you're ready to go. So as you can see, there's no castle nut, cotter pin, anything like that for your spindle.

You should already have that. If not, you could purchase that separately here as well. So this is made for, again, 7,000-pound trailer axles with the agricultural spindles, and it will fit the TRP spindles. I'll throw those three item numbers up on the screen. That way if you don't have those, you can go ahead and get one.

Otherwise, you can pull up yours and see what size you need and that kind of stuff. So as I mentioned, this is a bolt pattern of six on six. The pilot hole diameter is a 4.62, so that's the outside of this guy right here. The grease cap flange diameter is 2.446, and that would go on here. Now this does have what's called an offset.

So it has a wheel offset being that it's agricultural, a positive 1.12-inch offset. So that just kind of pushes the hub out a little bit. Now the bearing race and seal information, again, it's all gonna be included here, starting with the inner bearing. That's the bigger one that goes on the inside, just like that. This is a part number 696, I'm sorry, 69349, and the size of the inside is 1.4961. The outer bearing, that's your smaller one, goes on the outside here. That's item number LM67048, or a 1.25-inch inner diameter. Again, the races are already pressed in. The inner race is a 69310 and the outer race is a 67010. You're also gonna get the agricultural grease seal that is included. The inner diameter of this guy is 1.625 and the outer diameter is 2.566. So again, folks, everything you need here in the kit for one side of your trailer hub assembly. Folks, I'm Steven. Thanks so much for looking at this ag hub with me today. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

  • What is the Overall Bore Depth for the Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for 7K Axles - 6 on 6?
Hello Joseph, I was not able to find that information anywhere. Good thing I am always looking for an excuse to stretch my legs, so I took a stroll out to the warehouse and the overall depth for the Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for 7K Axles - 6 on 6 - Wheel Studs # TRU55FR is 3 7/8". Is that going to work for you? if not, what measurement are you looking for?

  • Do Same Capacity Axles Use the Same Hubs?
Not necessarily and especially not on a mobile home axle. Those are only designed to be used once and don't have much consistency in their sizing. Do you have any part numbers or measurements you could send me? If so you can email them to me directly or comment below.

  • Where to Measure on Trailer Spindles to Determine Replacement Hubs
I am sure there is but I would need you to take some measurements off of your current spindle or bearings so I can find the right hubs. The easiest way to do this would be to pull one of your hubs and get the part numbers off of the sides of the bearings. If there aren't any you'll need to measure the diameter of the spindles where the seal and bearings ride. Check out the picture I attached that shows where this is. You will need an exact measurement so either a digital caliper like...

  • Recommended Hub for a Inner Bearing JL69349 and Outer Bearing LM67048
Sorry Colt the spindle you have is an agricultural one and the only available hub for it is the Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for 7K Axles - 6 on 6 - Wheel Studs item # TRU55FR. In order to add brake hubs you would need to cut your spindles off and replace them with a size that matches up with a hub with brakes.
