Do Same Capacity Axles Use the Same Hubs?

Updated 10/15/2024 | Published 10/14/2024

Question:

Do all axle hubs that have the same weight rating have the same inner diameter that the race would go into? I have 2 axles with 2 different style hubs one is 6lug the other is the old mobile home style. The inner bearings are the same which made me think if I got the appropriate races for the outer bearing then I could swap the hubs? Is this possible?

Expert Reply:

Not necessarily and especially not on a mobile home axle. Those are only designed to be used once and don't have much consistency in their sizing. Do you have any part numbers or measurements you could send me? If so you can email them to me directly or comment below.

@Ross Thanks for the information! You will want the Bearing Kit, 15123/ 25580 Bearings, 10-36 Seal item # BK3-100. To replace your 363497 seal you can use the double-lip seal item # RG06-070. These have an inner diameter of 2.250" and an outer diameter of 3.376".
