  • Replacement Brakes and Axle for 1997 Magic Tilt Boat Trailer
Hey Michael! I would add hydraulic surge brakes since it is a boat trailer. Dealing with the hydraulic lines and fluid I would say a little more involved upfront, but the better option overall. You will need the following: -Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR -Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing # AKFBBRK-35 OR -Hydraulic Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - Dacromet # AKFBBRK-35-D (if you're worried about corrosion) -Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit for Tandem...

  • Does The Demco Brake Line Kit DM5428 Come With Stainless Steel Brake Lines?
Hey Norman, thanks for reaching out. The Demco Trailer Brake Line Kit # DM5428 does not come with stainless steel brake lines. The hard lines in the kit are Galfan-coated steel, which is a carbon steel brake line with a zinc-aluminum coating applied for corrosion resistance. It's a step up from traditional galvanized or zinc-coated steel, but it isn't the same material as stainless steel. I am not sure why the video said stainless, but I will let them know and we will work on getting that...

  • Recommendation on Switching from Electric Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Mobile home axles were designed as a one time use axle. The spindle of these axles are usually come in odd sizes, making it them incompatible with standard trailer hubs and parts. If any of these part need replacing, then the standard trailer hubs and parts will not work and then you may have to change your axles. However, if you are going to reuse your wheel hubs and if you have a 5 bolt brake flanges on the axles, then we might be able to find the parts needed to convert over to hydraulic...

  • When Replacing Trailer Brake Lines Is Bleeding the System Required to Get Fluid to Assemblies
You will need to bleed the brake system to get all of the air out of the lines after replacing the brake lines. Filling up the master cylinder will get some fluid into the lines but not a whole lot. You will need to keep bleeding them till there are no air bubbles that come of the wheel cylinders. If you have a power bleeder you would not need to actuate the actuator to build pressure as the power bleeder will do that for you. To make bleeding the brakes easier and quicker we have the...

  • How to Convert Demco Drum Brake Line Kit DM5428 to be Compatible with Disc Brakes
All you would need to make the Demco brake line kit part # DM5428 compatible with disc brakes is additional flex lines for what connects to the calipers. Reason being the calipers are floating and they need to move a little bit. So for that you'd need four of the part # DM05982.
