  I went out in the warehouse and measured the etrailer Steel Trailer Fender, part # HP76VR. If you measured the width of the fender including the radius lip portion of the fender it is 10 inches wide everywhere. It is not narrower at the top. The 8-1/4 inch width is if you just measured the flat portion of the width not including the radius lip. See photo of the fender I am including that will show the measurements on the fender.
