Looking For Fenders, Brakes And Hubs For Wandering Tears Vaga Camper Build

Question:
I’m building a Wandering Tears Vaga tear camper. I have the basic frame welded together. I’m using a Timbren suspension. I want value over appearance. What steel fender would you suggest. What economical self adjusting brakes/hubs? What is popular with other Wandering Tears builders? What are tiedown fenders? I would prefer bolt on 32” spread between brackets. If project comes out well I might build an upgraded version. Thanks

Hey Joseph, thanks for reaching out. I looked up a few Wandering Tears Vaga builds, and it looks like most people are running a Jeep-style steel fender similar to # HP76VR. If you're after value over appearance, I think that's a solid choice. It's designed for 13" to 15" wheels and measures 36" long x 10" wide x 19-1/4" tall, so it'll fit a lot of common teardrop tire sizes. It's a durable, economical option that's easy to paint or coat.
For the brakes and hubs, I'll need a little more information before I can make a recommendation. Timbren offers several different suspension systems with different spindle sizes and weight capacities, so the correct hub and self-adjusting brake assemblies depend on which model you have. If you can let me know the Timbren suspension model number or at least the weight capacity (2,000 lb, 2,200 lb, 3,500 lb, etc.), I'll be happy to recommend the most cost-effective hub and self-adjusting brake setup.
As for the tie-down fenders, that is just a brand of fenders we offer. It doesn't look like they do any of the Jeep-style fenders though.

The sticker on the Timbren says ASR3500S - LH. I assume LH is left. I bought it with spindles, but I don’t know if that was included with that part number. Rated for 3800 pounds. Do you need any other info? Thanks for the fender info. Joe Schmidt
