What is Part Number for Blue Ox Apollo Non Binding Tow Bar

Updated 06/23/2026 | Published 06/11/2026

Question:

BLU43QV Or BX7470P are these one and the same? Or is this BLU43QV an e trailer private part number for some reason? Both are non-binding, Lunette style, Class V devices. And both come with class V safety cables. While we are talking, both of these tow bars are suitable with the following base plates BX1633, and BX2424 installed on their respective vehicles. Is this correct?

Hey Richard, yes the Blue Ox Apollo part number BX7470P is the same as our part # BLU43QV. We change the part number just to organize it better in our system.

This tow bar will also work with both base plate kits you mentioned part # BX1633 and # BLU34ER.

You mean the last base plate reference, was supposed to be BX2424, not the actual tow bar number of BLU34ER. This is correct you ment to state BLU34ER tow bar is suitable to tow both base plates on their respective vehicles BX1633, and BX2424. Correct. Also, I used the BLU34ER towbar for about 6-10 miles yesterday. Two thing, this is the Lunette Ring towbar, and it can with the incorrect blue ox instructions for the standard BX7470, not the BX7470P. I reached out to Blue Ox and the resolved the issue. If you are going to change the part number for your systems convenience, at least send it the correct set of instructions, or don't change, or include bot part numbers in the literature. Unless you are going to correctly support the alternative part numbers. Or did I make a mistake in anything I have added here? Last in that 6-10 mile ride all of the powder coating on the intercircumference of the Lunette ring has chipped away. I assume this wear is normal and expected.

@Richard Thanks for that feedback. I would say yeah the wear on the lunette ring is normal. That's a lot of force and friction on it which powdercoat wouldn't be able to withstand.

Are all of my other research items correct? It is important that I train myself in cross-reference accuracy, because there is no table, where I can confirm these answers myself.

@Richard Our part # BLU34ER is same as Blue Ox BX2424. Using your part numbers I should have uses the 2424 part number to be more clear.
