Features to know about

Powering Through Ice and Packed Snow: V-Bar Studded Links Bite Deep

When the road turns into a sheet of ice or the snow packs hard on steep grades, these V-bar-style twist links dig in. Each cross chain has welded V-bars that chip through frozen surfaces to give you strong forward traction in deep snow, mud, or icy ruts. The ladder pattern keeps the grip consistent so you stay in control when climbing, braking, or pulling through slick terrain.

Built to Handle Rough Terrain Without Coming Loose: Manual Design Stays Locked In

No cams or levers here to rattle loose when you’re backing up or working through uneven ground. These chains hook together manually, so once they’re tensioned, they stay that way. Rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) can be added for a snug, secure hold that won’t shift when you hit soft snow or gravel tracks.

Chains That Stand Up to Heavy Use: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Construction

The 5.5 mm (0.218") thick links are made from nickel manganese alloy steel that resists rust and wear season after season. The tough outer layer holds up to repeated use in harsh winter weather, while the inner steel core absorbs shock as you drive. It’s a setup that keeps working even after long days in snow, slush, and mud.

Strong Grip Across Multiple Tire Sizes: Fits 15" – 20" Tires

Whether you’re outfitting a work rig or preparing for mountain travel, this pair of Titan Chain snow tire chains covers a wide range of tire sizes from 15 inches up to 20 inches. You get the reliable traction of heavy-duty V-bar chains designed for serious winter performance both on and off road.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

These chains are well built. My 1 ton truck was in 6” deep snow when I chained up. The truck was able to tractor right up A steep hill. The binder is stout steel, not a stamped piece prone to bending. I used rubber tensioners. The combo worked great. All of my use has been off pavement this far. I bought two sets and would do it again.

by:

Nice chain set. They will work great. Got them on time. etrailer is a great company, i have bought 3 hitches from them over the years. Great job.

by:

Heavy duty well made. I bought these because I got my 37 foot travel trailer stuck in the mud and needed to push it uphill in reverse. After 3 failed attempts I ordered these and easily had enough traction to move a 10,000 lbs trailer. Very good quality.

by:

I am impressed with the Titan Snow Tire Chains I purchased recently. They appear to be well made and sturdy. They fit my tires and were easy to install. The V-Bar links allow me to drive into the woods with the confidence that I will be able to return home safely.

by:

Excellent chains. Used them extensively this last November getting up and down a snowed over road and snow/iced over rocky trail up the mountain in CO. They didn’t break on the rocks and got great traction on ice, got me out of several miles of 3ft of snow with ice underneath. I highly recommend the steel spring chain tensions. When properly installed you can get these chains nice and tight. I can only run chains on my rear tires due to upper control arm clearance issues (‘08 Tacoma) so I’m giving my second pair to my brother (‘12 f150) for his rear tires.

by:

The chains I ordered were delivered on the date promised. They were well packaged and undamaged. These chains are for the front axle of my 4WD tractor. The tractor has R4 tires that are worthless in snow, and I think these chains will vastly improve my traction. I installed the chains and with some adjustment they are just right size wise. I will test them when we get the next snow that needs to be plowed. Excellent transaction and product from etrailer.

Haven't used then yet, but pulled then out they feel sturdy and of good quality. Fast free shipping...Thank you Etrailer...I spoke to a few of your customer reps, I specifically remember Helen....Outstanding Customer Service.. Thank you all, you cannot pay enough for Great service these days...

by:

I initially ordered a different type of snow chain but was quickly informed that there would be a delay due to backorder issues. The rep provided me with other chains that would fit my application that would ship much sooner and at the best price. I decided on these and the rep suggested I get the tensioners as the ones I wanted (the V link for my tire size) did not have cam tensioners as the picture may confuse.

In the end the customer service, desire to get me the best price and get it to me as soon as possible has made a return customer for sure!

Great chains when you need the traction!

  • What Tire Chains Should I Use On My 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross
Hey, Abigail! Happy to help out. Based off your 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross it looks like it only had one option for tire size, 225/55-18, which is helpful in finding chains. I do agree that the v-bar is a bit aggressive for what you will be needing. D-link chains in a diamond pattern are the best pattern for traction. The best chains for your tire size is going to be the Konig part # TH01571240. They will be the easiest to use and a big plus with these chains is that they will tighten...

  • Recommended Tire Chains for 235/65 R - 16 Tires Being Used to Plow Snow
Hey Joe, thanks for the information. Tire chains can definitely be used on vehicles plowing snow. Since it's your own driveway you'll want to go easy on how aggressive of a set you get if your driveways paved. If you're dealing with light ice, I recommend the Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains item # TH01571245. These are a diamond pattern set of tire chains that have built-in tensioners to keep them snug on your 235/65-16 tires. These are going to be the easiest on your driveway if...

  • Recommended V-Bar Links for 225/75/16 Tires
Hey Tracy! For your 225/75/16 tires, I recommend the Glacier Tire Chains w/ Cam Tighteners item # PWH2819SC. These chains have V-bar links that are great for deep snow and they also come equipped with ice spikes for better traction on ice. Since the links are rounded, they'll give you a smoother ride with less jarring when compared to the square link or even D link style chains.

  • Recommended Snow Tire Chains For My 2021 Toyota Highlander
I did some research and I checked the owner's manual of your 2021 Toyota Highlander. You will need to use a Class S compatible snow tire chain, they are the only snow tire chains that meet your owner's manual tolerances. They are designed for tight wheel well clearances. The Titan chains, part # TC2829, and , part # TC2829CAM, you are inquiring about are not Class S compatible snow tire chains. If you use them, you do so at your own risk If you have the 235/55-20 tire on your vehicle,...

  • What Tire Chains do You Recommend for My 2019 Toyota Highlander with 245/60-18 Tires?
Since you mention built-in cams, I believe you are referring to the Titan Snow Chains - V-Bar - Cams # TC2829CAM for your 245/60-18 tires on your 2019 Toyota Highlander. We do also sell these chains without the cams as part # TC2829. The only difference is that the # TC2829CAM are only approved for on-road use while the # TC2829 can be approved for on-road and off-road use. The V-bar links on both of these chains are not harder on the tires as long as you plan to use them in on snowy surfaces....

  • 2017 Toyota Highlander Tire Chain Recommendation for P245/60R18 Tires
The Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC2029 will fit the P245/60R18 tires on your 2017 Toyota Highlander. These are a cost-effective way to stay legal in areas that require you to have traction devices but if you're looking for something to help you get through snow then we need to look at actual chains because cables won't help at all - the light snow rating basically just means snow that you can get through without chains. For something with the same ladder pattern you can use the...

The snow tire chains that I really like for 245/55-18 tires are from Titan, at the following part number: - Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC2829 The # TC2829 really gives you the best of everything as they offer excellent grip even in deep snow as well as on ice.
