How to Install the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains on a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder

Hey everyone, today we have a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. We're going to do a test fit for the Titan Chain snow tire chain. Now it's always a good idea to keep a set of chains in your car during any inclement weather situation. You could get stuck and these will help pull you out of it.Now they have a ladder design, and that's going to help with traction for starts, stops, and turns. They also have these V bars welded onto each cross link, and that's really going help out when it comes to really thick ice, or even off road situations. You kind of want to avoid driving these chains on any light stuff where you might still be hitting the pavement.

That could tear up your chains and make them wear unevenly, or even tear up the pavement. They have a low carbon steel construction, so they're going to be very strong and durable. The chains are going to have a max speed rating of 30 miles per hour. They come in a set of two with this canvas sack that's going to make for easy storage. Now if your Pathfinder has all wheel drive or four wheel drive, and you want to have a set for the back tires, just use the same part number. With that being said let's show you how they install. Now I got my chains laid out flat, you want to do this to make sure there're no twists in the link, no broken links, or anything like that.

Once you've done all your checks you also want to make sure that these hooks right here, that are connecting our cross chains to our side chain things are facing up, because we don't want the hook of them rubbing against our tire. Now from there we're just going to grab a hold of our chains from the middle, and we're going to drap them over the top and sides of our tire. Try to line it up as even as we can. If you have any slack on either side you want to make sure you get that as even as possible as well. Now we're going to make our first connection in the back. We made it a little bit easier on ourselves, so we went ahead and turned the wheel so that we could have better access.

We have our hook right here, and we have these extra links, we're just going to attach one to it, go with the second one. You don't want it to be tight, you just want it to be a bit snug. The second one can't quite reach it, so we're going to go ahead and just get the first one on there. Now we have turned out wheel back so we can make our second connection up here in the front. What we're going to do is take that first link and put it over top of this lever, and we're going to pull back on it like so.

Grab this link and attach it to it.Now our chains our pretty tight on our tire. There's still just a little bit of slack, so I'd highly recommend picking up a set of rubber tensioners, you can find these here at etrailer. You're just going to help pull that chain down and just make it really snug against your tire. Show you how to install it real quick. I'm going to start by taking one of the hooks, and coming from behind, hooking it on. Now I'm going to go directly across, this is going to help ensure that you get it as even as possible on your tires. Then just the diagonal ones, go directly across, and then do the last set.Now you just want to repeat this whole process for the other side. Once you got both chains installed it's a good idea to drive forward a bit, and stop, and get out, and make any adjustments if you need to. With all that being said, that's going to do it for our test fit. The Titan Chain snow tire chains on our 2018 Nissan Pathfinder.
