Question:
Hi, I drive a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross LE with standard all season tires, live in East Texas and will mostly be using the chains on untreated iced/light snow Texas roads. The times that Ive needed chains is increasing and I dont really know which set to get. I saw the v bars, but think those will be too aggressive for roads. I dont go off roading and will mostly be on pavement. Thank you for helping and have a great day.

Hey, Abigail!
Happy to help out. Based off your 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross it looks like it only had one option for tire size, 225/55-18, which is helpful in finding chains. I do agree that the v-bar is a bit aggressive for what you will be needing. D-link chains in a diamond pattern are the best pattern for traction.
The best chains for your tire size is going to be the Konig part # TH01571240. They will be the easiest to use and a big plus with these chains is that they will tighten the tension as you drive. Other chains you will have to drive a bit after you first put them on, stop and check the chains, tighten if needed, then continue down the road.
If you haven't ever used chains before, you always want to put the chains on and off a few times for practice. I do this every year before winter comes just so I can jog my memory in case I ever need to use them. You are also going to be limited to 25 MPH when the chains are on.
I've linked a video our great Evangeline on our video team did on installing the chains.
What area in east Texas are you at? I've been to Dallas/Ft. Worth area a few times and have enjoyed my time there!

Thanks Gwendolyn! I live in Huntsville, Tx. It's an hour north of houston directly on HW 45. Been getting weird weather last 10 years so finally getting chains. Usually when the cold reaches us we get more ice than snow.
