Features to know about

Need Reliable Grip on Snowy or Icy Roads: Diamond Pattern Bites In

When winter hits hard, these diamond-pattern chains give you solid traction in snow and ice. The square links dig in firmly, helping you keep control when starting, stopping, or turning. Because of the diamond layout, more of the tire stays in contact with the chain, which means steadier handling through corners and a smoother ride over packed snow.

Tired of Chains That Are a Hassle to Mount: Assisted Drape-Over Design Makes It Simple

Mounting chains in cold conditions can be a pain, but these are designed to go on quickly without driving over them. Just drape them over your tire and connect the color-coded links. Built-in tensioners tighten the fit as you go, so there’s no fumbling with loose ends or extra rubber straps. The assisted adjustment setup keeps the chain centered and secure while you drive.

Step 1 of installing Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains showing chain spread behind tire before connection

Step 2 of Titan tire chain installation showing yellow and blue cables being connected behind tire

Step 3 of Titan Chain installation showing cable centered on tread and green hook joining yellow side chain

Step 4 of Titan Chain installation showing silver draw chain and rubber tensioner being tightened through red channel and rings

Step 5 of Titan Chain installation showing final chain adjustment after pulling vehicle forward

Need Chains That Fit Tight Spaces: Class S Design for Limited Clearance

Some wheel wells don’t leave much room, and that’s where the SAE Class S rating really matters. These chains are made for vehicles with restricted clearance, using compact 0.145" (3.7 mm) links that sit low against the tire. You still get dependable bite and traction without worrying about rubbing against fenders or suspension parts.

Looking for Strength That Lasts: Manganese Nickel Alloy Resists Rust and Wear

Snow, salt, and slush can be rough on metal, but the manganese nickel alloy used here stands up to it. This material is tough, durable, and corrosion-resistant so the chains keep their strength through multiple seasons. Even after repeated use in harsh winter conditions, they hold their shape and keep performing when you need them most.

Keeping Your Gear Organized: Comes in a Reusable Storage Case

When the season’s over, the included reusable plastic case makes it easy to pack the chains away neatly. It keeps the links contained and ready for next time, whether you store them under a seat or in the back of your truck. Simple, clean, and ready to grab when snow starts falling again.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

The fitment for my JEEP Grand Cherokee was good, just had a bit too much slack in the tensioning chain so with an easy loop of some heavy gauge wire, I was able to close the gap for a nice tight low profile fit. Put them to good use driving Seattle to Montana and back this past winter and they performed well, easy on easy off in the -20 weather was helpful.

These days we mostly rely on Amazon for online shopping - however, I am thrilled to have decided to purchase directly through etrailer for the following reasons:
1) Confidence - There's shwarmy re-selling on Amazon, where I felt confident I was going to get what I asked for from etrailer (and I did!).
2) Speed - Again, not quite 2 days guaranteed (which those of us with Prime have become accustomed to), but my two sets of chains only took maybe an extra day.
3) Process - etrailer provided easy-to-follow email updates on the order, shipping, delivery, and follow-up.

Given how heavy-duty these chains are, and my infrequency of use, I suspect I'll be good for a long time. But when the time comes, I'll gladly purchase directly through etrailer again.

Ps. DEFINITELY practice getting these on once before you need them. It just takes one attempt to recognize how easy they are to equip/take off, but never hurts.

by:

Chains were easy to equip. No need to drive on which is great if you're already slipping. After a few miles they would loosen up (no real way to tighten them since i was already pulling it across the tire). Advertised as low profile, but eventually loosened and damaged inner wheel well liner.
Great for the price and only if driving a few miles

by:

These are easy to install and look great on there can’t wait to get them in the snow

by:

I bought these chains as I was going into the snow and was expecting to have to use them. The weather was better than expected and I didn’t have to chain up but they fit great when I tried them on at home. I had a hard time finding chains that would fit as I have all terrain tires. Every other order I got from different vendors would never fit. I contacted the customer service department from etrailer letting them know what I needed and they were a great help. They knew exactly what I would need and it worked perfectly!

by:

Overall, a great product! I practiced throwing on the chains just once the day before my trip and was able install them in the snow in about 10 minutes with no major issues. Great traction.

Only reason these chains are not getting 5 stars is one of the chain links that are preset in the bracket popped out when we went through a small 12" snow berm which caused the chain to fall off the tire. Easily fixed in less than 5 minutes with some pliers.

Well worth the money and I would definately purchase these chains again.

by:

The tire chains are easy to install. Only had to use them one time and they performed great.

Great product. Would not hesitate to buy again.

by:

Used this to tap into my turn signals for my snow plow. The wire loom was very short next to my turn signals and this allowed me to tap into the tight bend with plugs instead of splices. These will keep the connectors from corroding. I am glad I found these for my Excursion, it saved a lot of frustration of trying to splice in tight areas. I highly recommend these for any project. Well worth the money.

I have a Chevy Traverse 2018 with 255/65R18 tires. The distance between tire and wheel well of the car is low. Even after watching the install video and confirming these would fit my size tire without any extra equipment or cutting of links. The fit was loose even after having the tension chain pulled to the last link. I had to add extra heavy duty black bungees across the face of the wheel to pull the slack in. Just like you used to do with the old style heavy duty chains. After adding the bungees the chains worked great in 12" of snow.

by:

These chains worked great and had a great experience with Josh B. I got the chains for a hunting trip and I’m glad I did because it a snowy, icy, muddy mess.

by:

Bought 2 sets of the Chains for a 4-wheel winter trip through Canada to Alaska and back to the states, including a side trip to an ice road north of White Horse. They arrived shortly after ordered and were nicely packaged in a handy and durable container. During test fitting, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The chains slipped on easily and looked great on the tires. I was almost disappointed that the Bridgestone Blizak snow tires we used worked so well that we never got to use the chains in over 6000 miles of snow and ice covered roads.

However, I am giving the chains a 5 star rating because they went on so easily and looked so great during the test fitting that I just can't imagine them not working well.

If I could, I would give etrailer.com and its sales staff a 10 star rating for their professionalism and help!

Thanks, etrailer!

Chains come in nice carrying case that fits underneath rear seat cushion of 2017 Ram 1500. Ram Owners' Manual says that these chains can be used on rear axle on trucks with 265R/70 17 tires.

Ive yet to use the chains but keep them handy underneath my back seat.

by:

The chains go on much more easily than the old ladder type and of course offer great traction. Be sure to take them off in exactly the reverse order as you put them on. Otherwise, like me, you will have to climb under the truck to get them off. As always E-trailer under promises and out performs getting these back ordered chains to me before i head off to the mountains from frozen Northern Minnesota.

After a year I’ve only needed them three times. I don’t recommend keeping them on if you go over 40 MPH. One of my chains broke but they include repair links so easy fix.

@Larry Glad to hear the chains are holding up to heavy use on your plow. The drape-over chains are great aren't they? Although we usually don't get enough snow down here in Missouri to have a need for chains. Whereabouts do you do most of your plowing?

by:

Fits great, quality chains and case. Easy to put on.

by:

Chains fit my Blizzak 265/70 R17 tires perfectly. I'll be honest, I was expecting thicker links (similar to old school snow chains) but since my vehicle requires Class S chains I guess the links need to be a smaller gauge. No worries, I did a test install in the garage and they went on fine. Also took a test drive on snow covered gravel road and they worked as advertised. No regrets on my purchase, in fact I might get an additional set for my front tires as well at some point. Shipping was extremely fast. Hopefully I'll never need them, but if I do it's good to know I've got them in the vehicle.

Perfect. I did get a second set for my front tires and have had the opportunity to use them on county roads that arent plowedmaintained by the county. Worked perfect. Continue to highly recommend.

Love these chains. They are super quick and easy to put on/take off. A friend said to purchase spare rubber bungees in case these break, but so far so good.

by:

I am writing this review to let you know that I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with your prompt delivery, quality of product, and follow-up with product satisfaction. More companies should follow your business model and professionalism. The chains came in a wonderful carrying case, simple to follow instructions and showed up on time! Nothing could be better than that! I will be recommending you to all of my friends should they have need of your service! I will also be letting all of my friends on SOCIAL MEDIA about you as well! Feeling very good about my purchase and my wife and I's upcoming move to Jackson Wyoming! Thank you.

by:

I really like the ease of installation of this style of chain. The diamond pattern is a smoother ride. They have good grip on thick ice. The manufacturer even included repair links and gloves to use if i wanted to dye my hair. I received my order faster than expected and really liked etrailers detailed order tracking.

by:

Have not yet used them but the quality of the cabling and chain is very good. The chains come in a flexible waterproof zip up case that fits perfectly in the spare tire bay in our 2015 MBZ GL-450. This a plus, as I can store them year round and not worry if I packed the chains and they won't be in the way of the groceries.
Looking forward to not needing them, but if I do I have full confidence that they will safely get us to where we are going.

by:

This is our second time ordering online from etrailer. Both times were excellent experiences and their product quality is second to none. The snow chains we ordered arrived within a couple of days, traveling from MO to CA. These chains are very easy to install and remove and are come in their own cases. We ordered two sets (four chains) for our AWD Dodge Durango. I also have two sets for my Toyota Tacoma 4X4 that I ordered previously from etrailer.

by:

I haven't driven with them yet, but I like the size of the chain and the design, and expect them to ride smoother than ladder chains. The storage bag is nice also. They were easy to put on without moving the vehicle, and they fit perfectly on the 265/70-17 tires on my Toyota 4Runner. I've added a rubber tie down strap to tighten them further just in case. In the photo the vehicle hasn't moved yet, I might have to adjust them a bit, but they do feel pretty tight already.

Tire chains are too loose, the tightening chain was pulled as fas as possible, but still too loose

I have reached out to the manufacturer about the installation of the chain. It was suggested to take the pull chain up through the next yellow side chain then bring it back and that would tighten better. Before taking this step I recommend taking the chains off and then reinstalling. Please note that it is recommended that you pull forward a few feet in order to let the chains reset and then tighten as needed.

by:

Bought these for my new 2018 Ram Tradesman after trying some SCC Z Chains which, even though they are rated S class, had inner brackets and cables that seemed far to close to the rubber brake line on this Ram (which is unfortunately very close to the tire). These Titan chains are very easy to install, and have a very clean profile on the inside (see pic), so I think these will be fine on this truck.

They also come in a very nice, compact soft case, and are far easier to pack back up than other chains I've used. I've only tried them on my driveway, so can't comment on how they handle in the snow, but I suspect the diamond design should work very well. I did notice that moving the truck after installing, they did need to be snugged up by moving the one tensioner, but that's to be expected as they settle and center themselves on the tire. Very nice design with the stiff cable on the inside, and unique, easy to use tensioner system.

by:

Just completed fit-check of these chains on my two vehicles (2016 Toyota Tundra, P255/70R18, Michelin LTX MS2; 2010 Toyota Sequoia, P275/55R20 111S M+S, Bridgestone Dueler H/L) and all is good! Hardest part of installation was untangling the chains to lay out on the ground (that always is, for me!). Practice makes it easier. Thank you etrailer!

Rolling a few revolutions and re-tightening chains IS important. Don't leave that step out. I'm going to add rubber tensioners (old-school, I know) just to be sure.

Pics are of the 2010 Sequoia and 2016 Tundra.

I'll start off with what I recommend, but there's a lot of good information below as to why these are going to be the best chains for you. I really prefer the # TC2828CAM because of the V-bar ice breakers, but because asphalt will become more brittle the colder it gets, it makes me lean towards the # TC2326 as the best solution for your plow truck on this particular driveway setup. You could go with a lighter plow vehicle, but I think you may find that you're going to slide around just...

The Titans Tire Chains are an excellent option because they are super easy to install, have a diamond pattern for increased traction, and low profile links for a smooth ride. These have square links which will give you outstanding grip and are also a diamond pattern, which means they get the best overall tire coverage as well. Additionally, these are class S compatible so if you do decide to double up on your rear chains you won't have to worry about damaging any brake or suspension components.

These chains are Class S compatible for low clearance situations behind the tire like what you have with your pickup. The square links on these chains will give you good traction for snow and mud like what you're needing. Larger links would be best for driving in mud but if you use larger chains than this they will come into contact with things on the back side of...

  • Recommended Diamond Pattern Tire Chains For 265/70r17 Tires on Ford F-150
I have a solution that gets fairly close to the style that you're referring to, but there is not currently a tire chain design that is going to have the diamond pattern running between the ladder style cross chains. For vehicles with limited clearance in the wheel wells, your best bet is going to be using a Class S compatible snow chain. For a Class S compatible snow chain that also has a diamond pattern (which provides lateral and horizontal chain orientation like you've mentioned) I...

  • Recommended Tire Chains For A Tandem Axle Enclosed Trailer
It is possible to put tire chains of your trailer tires. We recommend putting chains on the braking axle only. It will help to add traction and keep your trailer aligned in extreme winter conditions. Some states even have laws that require chains on trailers with electric brakes in areas where chains are required. If chains are required on the vehicle, we highly recommend putting chains on the trailer as well. Use of any tire chain requires careful matching to the tire size and a check...

  • Tire Chain for Size 265/75-16 and 285/75-16
I wish we had a set of tire chains that fit both of the tire sizes you mentioned of 265/75-16 and 285/75-16 but none of the chain options we carry fit both sizes. Tire chain fits are really specific so it's hard to really ever be able to buy one set that's going to fit multiple vehicles. You'd need a set like the part # TC2326 for the 265 size and the # TC2533 for the 285 size. This style of diamond pattern chain will do really well in the ice. The square links will break up the ice well...

  • Can Tire Chains Be Used On All Four Tires Of 2013 Ford F-150 4X4 Pickup Truck
I did some research of the owner's manual on your 2013 F-150. In the manual it says to only use Class S tire chains. The manual does state tire chains can not be used on the following tires: P265/60R18, P275/65R18, LT275/65R18, LT315/70R17, P275/55R20, and P275/45R22. You will want to make sure you have enough clearance when you turn the front wheels to allow the use of chains. The tire chains I recommend for your 265/70R17 tires are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part # TC2326....
