Fits Tight Wheel Wells: Class S low-profile design clears narrow spaces where standard chains won’t.

Durable for Emergencies: Low-carbon steel build handles mountain trips or chain-law zones when cables won’t cut it.
Features to know about
Confident Driving in Snowy Conditions: Twist Links Grip for Reliable Traction
When snow and light ice start to build up, these Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains help you keep moving with confidence. The ladder pattern and twist links provide solid forward traction while maintaining a smoother ride than square links. The smaller, rounded 4.5 mm (0.177") links bite into snow for grip without making the ride harsh or noisy. For most drivers, these chains are a dependable “just-in-case” upgrade over cables when heading through mountain passes or rural winter roads.
Smooth Ride on Clear or Mixed Roads: Low-Profile Class S Design Fits Tight Spaces
If your vehicle has limited wheel-well clearance, these Class S-compatible chains are built for you. The low-profile design meets SAE Class S standards, requiring only 1.46" (37 mm) between tread and wheel well and 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire sidewall and vehicle. That makes them ideal when you need extra traction but can’t fit bulky chains. The twist link shape also softens the feel of each rotation, offering a more comfortable ride on compacted snow or short stretches of pavement.
Simple Setup Without Cams or Levers: Manual Tensioning That Stays Put
No need to worry about cams popping loose in reverse or on rough roads. These chains use a straightforward manual connection that stays secure once tightened. You can add optional rubber adjusters for an even tighter fit, keeping the chains centered as you drive. This setup is favored by users who want a simple, reliable way to prepare for sudden snow without complicated tools or mechanisms.
Durable Construction That Lasts Season After Season: Low-Carbon Steel Strength
Built from low-carbon steel, the links stand up to repeated use, resist wear, and can handle tough winter conditions. Even with occasional “emergency” use, they maintain their integrity and resist rust when properly dried and stored. Each set includes two chains and a reusable storage case, making them easy to keep organized and ready for the next snowstorm.
Peace of Mind for Winter Trips: Affordable Protection When You Need It Most
Whether you’re traveling through the mountains or keeping a safety set for emergencies, these low-profile chains deliver strong traction without breaking the bank. They’re the perfect middle ground between lightweight cables and heavy-duty chain systems—strong enough to handle snow and light ice, yet compact and economical enough to store in the trunk for when winter weather hits.

Confirming Your Fit
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Chains fit very well. Seems that the metal is very soft when trimming off the extra links with a hacksaw it only took a few seconds. 3393356

My Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains arrived on time and fit great. They were exactly as described. Luckily I did not have to use them at all last winter, but I did a test run and they were relatively easy to install and tighten. Having these in the trunk of my van allow me to stay in compliance with state "chains required" regulations and provides me with peace of mind. I would highly recommend this product. Customer service has been great. 1693572

I have an ‘07 toyota camry tire size 215/60/16 and was able to install the chains on both of the drive tires in less than 7 mins by myself. I could've bought snow cables but based on my research, the camry is not low profile, plus the snow chains have more “bite” traction vs the cables! Etrailer is my go to place for auto accessories!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!
Id give a 10 star, but 5 star was the max, extremely pleased with my experience with the purchase. 936594

I have not actually had the opportunity to put on and use my new snow chains yet. But, I am happy with the shipping process, although they had arrived one day later than the date that was suggested by UPS. I'm sure that my snow chains will work just fine when I need to use them for the first time. No ice on our local area roads right now... 334322

Sorry this is not a product review, as we haven't had snow since I got the chains. But it is comforting to know they are in my trunk. I did want to say that I had excellent experience with etrailer. Planning on a trip very soon. I found that I should have snow chains for our safety. I checked etrailer.com and not ony found what I need, but at a very good price. I ordered and hoped it would arrive in time. Low and behold, not only was it a quick delivery, but was way faster than I thought it would take.
etrailer.com has never let me down anytime I have needed them. I highly recommend them. 473547

I have been happy with the use of this product. It fits right with the extra purchased suspenders. Only had to use them once but it was a good use. I pulled these out a few days ago looked them over and I was happy there wasn't any evidence of rust or serious flaw. After a year --I can honestly say that these chains did the job. I never review a product quickly unless I get a decent amount of use but after a year these are still like new. Sometimes chains go bad after one use, these did not, they are still good to go if needed. 916816

Tire chains do come in several varieties and some need more space within the wheel wells than others in order to operate safely. There are actual chains like # TC1138 and also the "spring chain" or cable type such as # PW1038 which require far less space. Both of these chain products fit the 225/55R17 tires on your Crosstrek and you can see these and others for your tire size on the linked page.

The correct set of chains for you would depend on your needs.
If you want an inexpensive set of chains that will sit in the back of the vehicle, to be used in the unlikely event that you found yourself in a situation where you'll need them, the Glacier Chains # TC1138 would be a good choice. We also recommend the Rubber Adjusters, part # PW99.
However, if you're purposely driving into snowy and mountainous areas and know without a doubt you'll need the chains frequently, you'd be better... view full answer...
That would completely depend on specific set of chains you are looking at. Some chains that fit a 275/70-17, will also fit a 275/70-18, but I think it is safe to say that most will not. We can usually pull up a list of approved sizes for each set of chains as needed. Generally we would just get your tire size and recommend chains based off of that.
If you are needing chains for your 275/70-18 tires, I recommend the Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2533. These are the self tensioning drape-over... view full answer...
There is not one set which will fit both tire sizes.
For the 225/55-17 the Titan Chain # TC1138 snow chains in a ladder pattern are an economical choice. We advise using # PW105 rubber tensioners to keep them centered and tight.
For the 225/65-17 the Titan Chain # TC1142 are the same chain in the next size. Use the same rubber tensioners.
You will need to check the owners manual for both vehicles to determine if there are any tire chain restrictions. These are S rated which means they... view full answer...
The Thule tire chains will not fit both tire sizes but you could use the Titan Chains # TC1138. They do fit 225/60-16 and 225/60-17 tires. These will also work for vehicles requiring Class-S low-profile chains. I recommend adding the rubber adjusters, # TCMA2.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manuals for specific information on the use of tire chains. I have included some video links and a link to our help article on tire chains for you to the right. view full answer...
I did some research on your 2009 Subaru Outback Wagon and found that only Class S tire chains are to be used, and they are only to be used on the front tires.
Tire chains are size specific so you will want to know the tire size before choosing tire chains for your Outback.
From our fit guide I found that there are 3 typical tire sizes on the Outback so I will give a recommendation based on that. The tire sizes are 205/50-17, 225/55-17, and 225/60-16. If you have a tire size that is... view full answer...
Yes we can help you get setup with tire chains for both vehicles but the sizes of the tires are different enough that one set isn't going to fit both.
For the 245/40R18 the # TC1138 that you referenced is a fit and would work well. For a similar set that fits the 255/60R17 we have the part # TC3010 which is a confirmed fit.
Be sure to check the owners manual of both vehicles to determine if there are any tire chain restrictions. view full answer...
We cannot recommend using a single tire chain like the Titan Chain # TC1138 (or any single tire chain) on all four rear tires of a dually. If you want chains on all four rear tires, you will need to use a dually tire chain such as the Pewag Dually Tire Chains # PWE4216SC which are made for the 195/75R16 tires.
As far as installation, the # TC1138 and the # PWE4216SC are both drive-over chains, so installation would be fairly similar. You will need to lay out the chains on the ground,... view full answer...

One such product is the Glacier Class S Tire Chain for the 2003 Honda Accord, part # PW1034. From my research your 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek has 225/55-17 size tires from the factory. If you have a different tire size let me know. I also checked out your owner's manual and it recommends not using tire chains unless you're required to. In the event you need to the manual states to use Class S chains and to install them on the front wheels.

For your 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon with tires sized 225/55-17 you can use the Titan Chains # TC1138 ladder pattern using twist links chain. These will give you the best grip and still be Class-S compatible low-profile chains.
I also recommend using the Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters # PW105 to help keep the chains snug on your tires and to reduce the chance that your rims become damaged. Please note that in the online version of the owner's manual it states on page 8-11 not to use... view full answer...
If you have the 215/75-15 size tires on your 1998 Chevrolet Astro then I recommend using the Pewag Snox Pro Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # PWSXP570 because they are easy to install and feature square links in a diamond pattern for great traction.
For a more cost-effective option I recommend the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC1138 which uses twist links in a ladder pattern. These aren't quite as easy to install but they will get the job done.

For your 2017 Chevy Volt with narrow clearance I recommend the Titan Chains # TC1138 chains which are S-Class qualified for low profile fits. If you just need them for show or rare emergency these will do. Before buying snow tire chains you will want to check your owners manual or with the Volkswagen dealer, to see if you can install snow tire chains on your 2010 Volkswagen GTI, or if there are any limitations.

I took a look at the owner's manual of your 2001 Toyota Tacoma and it states:
"Install the chains on the rear tires as tightly as possible. Do not use tire chains on the front tires."
The tire chains I recommend are steel with a ladder pattern because these are going to give you exceptional traction and stopping power on both snow and ice. The correct snow tire chains are going to depend on the tire size of your '01 Tacoma:

Yes it means a pair or 2 tire chains. Like with the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC1138, which is designed to fit two (215/60-16 and 215/55-17) of the three tires sizes available on your 2015 Nissan Altima, you will have two chains for the front drive axle.

You can use any method you like to get you out of mud though there are a couple of things to note. With the Titan Chains like the # TC1138 installed we typically recommend a speed rating of between 30-35 miles per hour as the maximum speed.
There are no chains that will allow you to travel faster than that. Also, if you are in snowy enough conditions to call for chains you probably shouldn't be going faster than 30-35 MPH even with the extra traction that chains provide. view full answer...
Titan Tire Chain Sets # TC1254 and # TC1138 differ in certain construction features and in the tire sizes they will fit. Chain set # TC1254 has links that are 5.3mm thick and that fit 14- to 16-inch tires. Chain set # TC1138 uses thinner 4.5mm links that make it suitable on vehicles with 14- to 19-inch tires that require this special low-profile S-Class type chain. The Glacier Chain # TC1138 chains you referenced are indeed a fit for the stock size 225/40-18 tires on your 2013 VW GTI. These chains meet the qualifications for Class S status, which means the chains extend no further above or to the inside of the tire than 15mm. Before purchasing or installing chains, you'll want to consult your owner's manual and abide by any advice or prohibitions VW offers regarding tire chain usage.

You could certainly just add chains to the front tires since that would provide you with driving traction. But ideally you would want all four tires to have chains regardless of which axles drive the vehicle, as this would be the most effective and safest approach. That being said, I did check the owner's manual for your 2007 Toyota Avalon and it appears that Toyota recommends chains only be installed on the front tires.

The Titan Chain, Tire Chain you referenced, part # TC1138 would be correct for your Mud + Snow (M+S) rated 225/60/17 tires on your 2006 Sienna.
An M+S rated tire is not any larger in diameter than a standard tire, the difference lies in the extra cuts or sipes incorporated into the tread design itself.
I would also recommend the rubber adjusters, part # PW100. The adjusters will provide constant tension to the chains.
