Product is just as described; however, that was not my problem. My old unit had shorted out and blew a fuse where the two wires enter the 12 volt plug. This, of course, was not fault of etrailer but appeared to be a deficiency from the factory. 513058

Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Is Transmitter Required for Proper Function of Roadmaster Even Brake Supplemental Braking System
  • I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster regarding the Even Brake Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400. He stated that the Transmitter # RM-9420 is indeed required for proper operation of the system. The transmitter not only sends signals to the monitor in the cab so you know that everything is working properly but it also communicates with the system as you apply the brakes to allow for proper function. Without the transmitter the Even Brake would sense an error and would not work correctly....

  • Troubleshooting Roadmaster Even Brake Monitor And Transmitter
  • If the LCD display on your # RM-9410 monitor does not report braking activity or system status, and the LCD display reads 'Even Brake', the monitor is not programmed to the ICX transmitter. The transmitter and the motorhome monitor are programmed as a set. If you are installing a new monitor, you will have to follow the setup procedure which should be in the monitor kit. If you are getting the green LED light and an 'Even Brake' text message it means there is not a clear signal from...

  • Replacement Monitor and Transmitter for the Roadmaster Even Brake System
  • As long as the transmitter in the vehicle is still transmitting properly then you will not need any additional parts other than the replacement monitor # RM-9410 that you have referenced. If the transmitter is not sending out the signal then you can get both the monitor and transmitter together, # RM-9430. And if it is just the transmitter that is the problem you would need # RM-9420.

  • What Does the Low Voltage Message Mean on the Even Brake and How to Fix It
  • The low voltage message on the handheld part of the Even Brake # RM-9400 indicates that the battery in the towed vehicle has an insufficient charge to power the unit in the towed vehicle. The battery will need to be charged, or replaced if there is something wrong with it, in order for the Even Brake to function.
