Advanced RV Tank Monitoring

Traditional tank monitors have a reputation for being unreliable. Only a few sensors are installed inside, meaning that they usually only measure in quarter increments and can send false readings if they get dirty. When you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty means a lot, and that inaccuracy can be a problem.

The SeeLeveL tank monitoring system uses technology that can sense fluid levels from the outside of the tank. The sensors' flexible circuit board sticks in place and measures along its entire height. This makes it accurate in single-digit increments.

Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the SeeLeveL RV Holding Tank Monitoring System

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the SeeLeveL RV Holding Tank Monitoring System for the fresh and black water tanks. Now, if your RV tank monitor readings will change from 25% to empty in the blink of an eye, that could be a problem. This monitoring system here will track and display the levels of your RV's holding tanks at just the push of a button. This will hard-wire to the SeeLeveL sensors here, it includes the two 12 inch long sensors for fresh and black water tanks. Now, normally traditional tank monitors have a reputation for being unreliable, only a few sensors are installed inside, meaning that they usually only measure in quarter increments and can send false readings if they get dirty.

So when you're keeping an eye on how much fresh water you have, the difference between 25% full and empty will mean a lot, and that inaccuracy could be a problem. These sensors right here are designed to mount to the outside of the holding tanks rather than using interior probes. As we mentioned, includes these two 12 inch long sensors. These will prevent false readings caused by accumulating debris, provides readings with single digit accuracy, and these can be trimmed or stacked with an additional sensor to match your tank size. One sensor can accommodate 5 inch to 13 inch tall tanks, and you can stack additional sensors to accommodate tanks that'll go up to 25 inches tall.

Now, we talk about trimming it, you can see they have marks on them where you can trim them every 1 1/2 inches. Now, the display monitor right here, this will also show your battery voltage, has a diagnostic mode that'll check the status and signal strength of those sensors, and it offers error codes that alert you of any issues, you can check the manual for suggested solutions. This also has an integrated switch right here you can see that'll activate the water pump. It is a three-way function, so it'll let you connect the switches in your bathroom, kitchen, or elsewhere. And you can also use multiple monitors, so that you can check your tank status from the service bay and inside your RV.

This comes with one monitor, we do sell monitors separately also. This is a very easy installation, all you need to do is cut a 1 7/8 inch by three inch hole size for the recessed mount of this monitor, comes with the mounting screws. The sensors themselves, all you have to do is remove the backing material, and then attach these sensors on the tanks, and then hard-wire them together. You can see they do include the pigtail that's needed for installation. The tabs that are on top of the sensors are trimmed to indicate which tank it's on.

And the length, as we mentioned, can be trimmed at those markings, which is every 1 1/2 inches, to match the height of your tank. The bus wiring will let all the sensor splice together in one line, and what's also nice is your existing wiring from your old tank monitor system can be used to help ease installation. Application again, this is for a two tank system for your RV or motorhome, and the last thing I just wanna measure is the monitor, give you an idea of the size of that. Width of it is right at four inches, overall height is 2 3/4 inches tall, and the depth with the pigtail installed is about 1 1/4 inches deep. But that should do it for the review on the SeeLeveL RV Holding Tank Monitoring System for your fresh and black water tanks..

We put the SeeLeveL system in our camper van about a year ago, and it has been a game changer for us. Before installing the system we only had a visual check on water level, by looking at part of the tank under the seat bench in the back of the van. It was inconvenient and because the tank is only semi-translucent, not always very accurate. The monitoring system remedied that. In addition, I can now monitor tank level while filling the tank by watching percent full from the back of the van... filling the tank used to be a two-person job. Finally, we have a 5 gallon gray water tank under the sink... we attached one of the sensors to the gray water tank, epoxied it for extra support, and wired the sensor to the system using flat electrical connectors so that it can be easily removed from the van for disposal of the gray water. It works like a charm, enabling us to monitor both fresh and gray water in the van. It was a simple installation, and I highly recommend the product.
