The Rhino-Rack ski and fishing rod carrier comes with a lock on each unit, offering you peace of mind when you are hanging at the lodge after a long day on the slopes or out on the lake in your boat.
The carrier operates with a large push button on the side of the unit. This design allows for easy loading and unloading of skis, a snowboard, or fishing rods, even if you're wearing fingerless mittens or big, bulky winter gloves.
The ski and fishing rod carrier mounts in the top channel of your Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero or Heavy-Duty crossbars with T-bolts. It also comes with universal clamp-on mounting hardware that lets you use the carrier on round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars right out of the box.
A riser kit (S550 - sold separately) is available to accommodate your skis or snowboards with tall bindings. The risers mount to the spacer nuts on the bottom of your rack and attach to your crossbars with a special fit kit (WR09 - sold separately). These kits add 1-3/8 inches of additional clearance between the bottom of the carrier and your vehicle's roof. If you have Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty crossbars, you will need to use fit kit WR02 instead of WR09.
This carrier protects your gear with soft rubber molding inside the hinged arms of the carrier. The molding gently cradles your skis, snowboard, or fishing rods and won't damage paint or cause abrasions.
