Question:
Bob, thanks a lot for the help. My last question on this topic and I think that I know the answer from poking around on etrailer. I have a pioneer platform 42101B which is 54 inches wide. I should be ok to have the 53 inch accessory bars on this platform correct? It seems like the wider bar would be ideal to maximize the utility of the rack?

I have a great ski/snowboard solution for you. Unfortunately, since the Yakima FreshTrack 4 Ski and Snowboard Carrier - Locking # Y03092 only use a clamp-on mounting method, it will not be able to fit on a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform like the # RR77AB. This is because the crossmembers of the platform are too wide.
However, we do carry a Rhino-Rack carrier that will work. For that route, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier # RR574 (for up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 boards) or # RR576 (for up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 boards). With these Rhino-Rack carriers, you need the accessory bars # RR43137B (48 inches long) or # RR43138B (53 inches long) depending on your platform's dimensions. Since the Rhino-Rack carriers come with t-bolt hardware that install into the channels of the accessory bars, they are compatible with your platform.
If you need help determining what accessory bar length you need for your platform or need assistance with the correct Pioneer Platform that will work with your vehicle, feel free to respond to this answer with your platform model or the year/make/model of your vehicle and I will be happy to assist you.
