Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: Air Springs That Eliminate Sag

A heavy trailer or bed load can make the rear end sag, throwing off braking and steering. Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs fit inside your existing rear coil springs to keep your vehicle level and steady under load. With a load-leveling capacity of at least 500 lbs (at most 2,000 lbs), they help maintain even weight distribution and level headlight beams for safer handling. By working with your stock suspension, they reduce strain on the rear axle and prevent bottoming out when hauling or towing.

Fine-Tune Ride Comfort: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 70 psi

Every load is different, and these air springs let you dial in support to match. Adjust air pressure manually between 5 psi and 70 psi using individual inflation valves for side-to-side leveling on off-center loads. Add air when towing or carrying heavy gear to firm up the rear suspension, or drop to minimum pressure for a smooth ride when unloaded. The adjustable setup gives better balance, improved control, and less bounce no matter what you’re hauling.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Extra Cushion for Stability and Control

When you hit uneven pavement or rough job sites, the Coil-Rite air springs absorb road shock before it reaches the frame. This added cushion helps your suspension handle bumps and dips while keeping the tires planted. The result is better steering response, more consistent braking, and a comfortable ride even under heavy loading or adverse road conditions.

Built Tough for Long Service: Durable Polyurethane Construction

Firestone designed these Coil-Rite springs from elastic polyurethane that holds up to constant flexing and changes in temperature. The material resists wear, cracking, and leaks so you can trust them for years of use. Each kit includes the springs, hardware, air line, brackets, and valves needed for a no-drill installation that fits right into your existing coil spring seats.

The Firestone airbags have been working quite well since they were installed, and have performed as expected. You just have to get used to monitoring the air pressure once or twice a week as there are minor air leaks that you have to contend with.

by:

Sorry, no picture as it is on the pick up truck and working fine.

by:

Great experience have awesome results from equipment I ordered thanks again

by:

Easy install, worked perfect for when I haul heavy weight in the back of my Ram. These do the job without breaking the bank. Would buy again.

by:

The customer service was excellent the product arrived quickly and was exactly as advertised, I would definitely recommend e trailer to anyone and I will use them in the future.

by:

Very good material and quality. But video showed you could just compress bag and squeeze it between truck spring. That was impossible to do. I had to put truck on lift and take springs off to install them. I think they will serve me fine.

by:

Wasn’t real hard to put on. Still took me 2 1/2 hours if I had a lift would have taken a considerable amount of less time. Seem to be working well haven’t towed my travel trailer yet but I’m sure they will help tremendously.

by:

Bags worked well on my Ram 1500. Small town shop depressed springs done in a hour. Cost $300.

by:

Great customer service when I called in and fast delivery. Etrailer seems to be on point as I have ordered a couple items from them the past few months and have been happy with them.

by:

Great for a small trailer/camper.

The kit was okay for one trip. The lines keep coming off then I lose air. I have had to fix the lines four times now I gave up, dont know if there is a real fix to this.My trailer is 18 feet.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.

The lines need to be cut very cleanly and perfectly square. If there a little crooked or rough, the fittings cannot seal to the line. If you are using a knife or box-cutter or side-cutters to cut the line, your fix may simply be a proper line cutting tool like part # AL10530. Make sure when you push the line into the fitting, that you push it all the way in until it bottoms out.

by:

does what I needed it to do when I pull to box trailer or the camping trailer.

by:

Good quality, good customer service

by:

Night and day difference. This truck has always rode more like a car, which is great, but it's a little under sprung for any real truck work. These bags made it perfect. 95% of the time I leave the bags completely empty, and when I want to pull my trailer or carry anything in the bed, just put a little air in and it's good to go.

by:

Ended up have to drop the rear axle to get the bags in. After that though, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. From time to time I pull a dump trailer loaded with dirt or stone and my Ram 1500 barely squats and handles it well. We also pull a 32 foot travel trailer like it’s not even there.

by:

I just installed the Firestone air bags on my 2020 Ram 1500. Fortunately I was able to have a hoist to make installing much easier. It only took a little over an hour start to finish. The only thing I feel should be put in the instructions is after taking the Schrader valve out to let the bags fill back up, it should state to not put the Schrader valve back in. I put the valve back in and wasn't able to adjust air pressure. I took the valve out and it works great. Can't wait for camping season now.

by:

My Coil-Rite helper springs are still working well after towing our Airstream more than 20,000 miles. I use them at 25-30 PSI to provide a little extra spring when towing with a load distributing hitch. The helper springs are most noticeable on roads with dips and heaves where the faster spring rate prevents porpoising.

I reduce pressure to about 5-7 PSI when we don't tow for a week or more. I manage the air pressure manually, which is easy with the valves clamped beneath the rear bumper.

by:

Once I figured out I had a bad air line things where a lot better (etrailer took care of me as usual). These work great leveled out my truck and helped my trailer dramatically.

Still going strong and doing its job. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

by:

Great quality, great service, fast shipping. Outstanding in all respects.

by:

Just install my whole kit no problems at all. Everything went rite on very easy. Two hours start to finish. Haven't tried towing yet, if it tows as good as it all fit I'm happy

by:

It performed as expected. I can hookup my boat and maintain my truck at the height that it was prior to hookup therefore keeping the headlights at the correct angle. I would have given it a 5, but it would not install through the coil springs. I had to remove them.

Just received the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper kit for my Dodge Ram. Can’t wait to get it instilled on my truck. The entire process of ordering from etrailer was very simple. The salesman “Nick” was very helpful and provided me with the information that I needed to select the product that I needed. Shipment was prompt as well! I will continue to do business with etrailer in the future!

They functioned exactly as advertised. Very strong and durable. So strong are they that they didn’t even burst or puncture in a roll over crash. One of the spring that contained a spring assist bag was knocked out of the truck and it still did not rupture.
In the pictures below you can see the spring in the bed of the truck.
Highly recommend this product.

  • Recommended Air Bags for 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
Hey John, I'd be happy to lay it out for you! Truthfully, they are similar in a lot of ways. They will both level out your ride and make it a lot more comfortable. For the Firestone Coil-to-Air-Spring Conversion Kit # F2595, the main advantage is the 3,000-lb capacity, but I looked up your truck's capacity and it maxes out at 1,830 lbs. The air bag capacity does not increase your vehicle's capacity, it just levels out your ride. So, these are overkill for your setup. A con to these bags...

  • Recommended Air Bags for a 2015 Ram 1500 with In-Bed Hitch
The only true air bag option for a 2015 Ram 1500 with in-bed hitch is the Firestone Coil-to-Air-Spring Conversion Kit part # F2595 which replaces the coil springs. If you don't want to do that then you can install an in-spring air bag like the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4185. Unfortunately, all other air bag options for this vehicle won't work with this vehicle due to the brackets interfering with one another.

You will be able to tow a fifth wheel with your 2014 Ram 1500 LongHorn that has a Rambox but it will require the use of a fifth wheel trailer with a Sidewinder king pin. If the fifth wheel trailer you purchased does not already have a Sidewinder you will need to purchase one to replace what is on the fifth wheel. Sidewinders are designed to replace specific king pins; for example # RP34FR is designed to replace Fabex 663 and 665, Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, as well as M&M 663 and 665...

Both the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4185 and the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs part # AL60818 are good options for your 2017 Ram 1500. The only real difference between the two is their pressure rating. As you previously mentioned, the Firestone airbags are rated up to 70 psi whereas the AirLift airbags are only rated up to 35 psi. Although the Firestone airbags are rated up to a higher psi than the AirLift airbags, they both have a maximum load leveling capacity...

The Firestone Coil-to-Air-Spring Conversion Kit # F2595 will only fit at stock height on your 2016 Ram 1500 4x4. They do not offer lift spacers which are compatible with these air springs. If you do find a 6" lift kit which maintains the factory coil springs you can use the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4185. The biggest difference between the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4185 and Air Lift 1000HD Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL60818HD is the capacity of the Air Lift. The Air Lift helper springs have a 2,100 lb load-leveling capacity compared to the 1,000 lb capacity of the Firestone springs which gives you more leeway when towing. The bags of this kit fit into the coils which allows you the ability to have as much suspension support as you want by adjusting the pressure in the bags. The air springs will provide additional support to your rear coil springs to reduce the amount of sag you encounter.
