Question:

I plan on using a weight distributing hitch for my box Tex 16’ dump trailer. I’m not sure what shanks would be compatible with this trailer due to the tool box in the front of the A-frame preventing bolt installation. I’ve checked on the compression shanks as well but the trailer frame is constructed with 8” I-beam. What recommendations do you have for me to intergeate shanks into my trailers frame?

With the Big Tex trailer having an I-Beam frame and the storage box I'm going to recommend using the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4185. By using the air bags on your 2019 Ram 1500 you will be able to adjust the ride height to work with the different loads that you will have with your dump trailer. This is something that is not as easily done with a weight distribution hitch.

The Air Command Compressor System # F2610 is a great on board compressor system to accompany the air bags. This will allow you to adjust your air bags from your smartphone which you can do from outside the vehicle as well as inside while you are driving to ensure you are level and have a comfortable ride.
