Why Would a Firestone Compressor System Continuously Fill Bags When Turned On

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 09/30/2024

Question:

Hi I have this Firestone wireless unit in my truck, it was installed prior to purchase. When I connect the wires to the battery the pump automatically turns on and it won’t connect to my app on the phone, am I missing something? Will the bags just keep filling until they blow up?

Darcy, that should not be happening. That to me sounds like there could be a relay switch that is stuck open causing the compressor to run continuously. It could also be a leak causing it to run all the time, or there could be a faulty pressure switch on the compressor.

I'd suggest checking out your owner's manual to look for the relay that is connected to the compressor.

Hey Darcy, were you able to track down the issue with the Firestone wireless unit on your truck? Knowing what fixed the constant compressor run could help others with the same setup. Your update might point the next person in the right direction.
