Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Heavy Loads: Up to 5,000 lbs of Rear Suspension Support

When heavy trailers or bed loads make the rear end sag, handling and braking can take a hit. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support to keep your truck level and stable. By distributing weight across all four wheels, they reduce stress on your factory suspension and help maintain proper headlight aim, steering response, and braking control under load.

Fine-Tune Ride Height for Every Trip: Adjustable From 5 psi to 100 psi

Not every haul is the same, so the LoadLifter 5000 gives you full control over ride firmness. With air pressure adjustable from 5 psi to 100 psi, you can run higher pressure for towing or heavy bed loads, then drop it down for daily driving comfort. Each spring can be inflated independently using the included manual inflation valves and air lines to level off-center loads or side-to-side weight differences.

Built Tough for Real-World Work: Reinforced Rubber and Zytel Nylon Endcaps

Durability makes all the difference when you’re hauling serious weight. These air springs are made of 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber with high-strength Zytel nylon endcaps that are lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than steel. Exclusive upper and lower roll plates protect the bags from road wear while increasing load capacity, so you get long-lasting support even in demanding conditions.

Easy Setup Without Extra Equipment: Complete Kit Ready to Install

Getting load support doesn’t have to be complicated. The LoadLifter 5000 kit comes with mounting brackets, hardware, manual inflation valves, and air lines—everything you need to install and get rolling. Once mounted, just inflate through the easy-access valves on your bumper to dial in your setup. For those who want extra convenience later, a compressor system with in-cab gauges can be added separately for automatic pressure adjustment.

Video Transcript for Checking Out the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs-AL73DQ

Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs and it's a kit for the rear axle. Now folks, this is a custom fit application, so what you wanna do is you want to go to our homepage here at etrailer.com, enter things like your year, make and model, cab size, bed length, 4 wheel drive, et cetera, whatever it asks you, to be ensured you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, as of this current video, this fits a '23 through 2024 Ford F350 Super Duty 4 Wheel Drive. Keep in mind, years could change, videos could be outdated, and it could fit newer years, so always, always check our fit guide. Now folks, this will provide you with, your vehicle rather, up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling support.

It is going to reduce the strain on your rear suspension and help improve both the safety and the ride quality. It has been designed for heavy duty applications, such as 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton pickup trucks and it will keep your vehicle level when you're hauling a heavy load. So a lot of times, you're loaded up and if it's heavy in the rear, it's gonna push your headlights up and the front of your truck up. This will also help put that headlight aim back to a normal safe position. It can help improve your steering and braking performance and it'll help keep your tires from wearing unevenly.

So if you have less pressure on one side versus the other and that kind of stuff, you're gonna help it wear evenly when you get that back to normal. Now you can manually adjust the air pressure to get the even load distribution and support you need. You can level your vehicle front to rear with these and you can inflate each spring independently for side to side leveling. So maybe you got like a salt spreader in the back of the truck, a camper in the bed of your truck, something like that, where it's just heavier on one side. You can inflate these independently and put one side up versus the other, et cetera, to level it out.

Now this does diminish sway and absorb road shock for a smooth ride. It does come with air lifts, exclusive upper and lower roll plates. Now those will help protect the spring from damage and extend the life of the air springing suspension. The bags are constructed of a two-ply fabric reinforced rubber, while the plastic end caps that are hidden under these silver pieces here, those are made of a high strength Zytel nylon, which is a lot lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than the steel ones out there on the market. All your mounting brackets are heavy duty high density steel that's been black powder coated for superior rust prevention and that kind of stuff.

You have manual air inflation valves and you get an airline with the Schrader valves already installed. You get a heat plate, or heat guard rather, for the one side where the muffler is. All the mounting hardware, the U-bolts, the brackets, keep in mind I've got all this mocked up here just for viewing purposes only. Obviously, the U-bolts and that other bracket there on the table here would go around the axle, on the frame part there, to mount these in place. So again, everything here is just loosely fit together for demonstration purposes. Okay, I see the bag compress and hear that air. You're gonna have between 5 PSI minimum all up to 100 PSI max in these bags. Follow the instructions, use the recommended starting PSI included in the instructions. You get a nice lifetime warranty on the bags, the hardware, everything here. I want to say that these are made in the USA, so it's a nice addition as well, everything made here in the US. If you want a compressor with an end cap gauge, that kind of stuff, that is sold separately, you can purchase that separately here at etrailer and then you could monitor and automatically adjust the air pressure on the fly from inside the cab without getting out to manually do it. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our look at this Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Helper Spring Kit for your rear axle. I'm Steven, thank you so much for your time. Thanks for watching and stay safe.

The airbags did their job! I’ve got a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, and I’m really happy with the results so far. I only had to put in about 10 psi, and that was more than enough to handle the weight of the dump trailer. The install was a bit tedious and took around 3 hours total. The left side definitely took longer than the right.

by:

The installation was not that difficult. I did not use the wire harness bracket supplied, my 2024 F250 I unplugged the harness form the truck sided bracket all the lines run up to and rerouted the harness much cleaner installation

by:

Installed yesterday and tried them out with the fifth wheel loaded. Leveled my truck out in seconds with a compressor. The installation video on the same page as the product was extremely easy to follow. Also, Joy was awesome with helping me select what I needed over the phone. Very happy with this.

I installed the airbags on my 2015 Ford Transit to help with the heavier weight after converting it to an RV. The airbags were fairly easy to install. All the parts were included with the kit. I chose to use the manual inflation option by running the air tubes to the back of the van and mounted the fill valves under the bumper. There is a noticeable difference in the sway of the van going around corners and the sag in the back of the van when fully loaded. It's easy with a bicycle tire pump to adjust the firmness of the airbags. A great addition to the safety of the van.

by:

Put these on my 2022 Ford F250 to assist with pulling my 5th wheel. Watched the etrailer YouTube video along with the instructions installation went smoothly.

by:

I can’t believe how much putting these rear springs on my 2021 Jayco Alante Class A has helped the whole suspension and ride.
We took the RV all the way to Alaska through AB, BC, and Yukon Canada. I started with low pressure at 60 psi to see how it performed but ended up having the air set at 80 psi. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a Ford F-53 suspension who struggles with the ride and comfort.

I just completed the install of this Airlifter 5000 series air bag kit. First, the kit, without a doubt, is a high quality kit with many of it's components designed specifically for specific vehicle application. I installed it under the rear of our new-to-us 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Laramie 4x4 Ecodiesel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice and robust powder coating of the metal mounting plates. That means protection for them for a long, long time. The hardware/fastners were/are of decent quality also. And, while the "springs" used for the temporary carriage bolt retention in part of the install are a good idea, I have maybe a better way of doing that. In my opinion, for whatever that's worth, here's a suggestion.
Since there are TWO of those carriage bolts that have to be installed AT ONE TIME, you now have to deal with those two long tailed springs, carriage bolts that continue to fall backwards into the abyss of the frame, all the while trying to maneuver the frame mount plate into position. Then, trying to retain tension on the tails of those springs that retain the carriage bolts, and align the bolt tips to enter the mount plate, and then, if and or when you get the mount plate into position and both bolt tips are protruding through it, you now have to hold ALL of that in place, while you remove at least one spring so that you can now grab a nut (a feat unto itself) and fit it onto the tip of one bolt, all the while trying to hold tension on that bolt so it won't fall backwards into the frame and start threading it.
Then, once it's threads are started, you can no concentrate on the same operation for the second bolt. What a serious pain in the petute!

But instead of the springs and tails to be used to retain the bolts while prepping to install the mount plate, you use whatever their called, a very, very thin retainer clip or washer or "push clip" (I really don't know the name of them) that are used to retain the drums onto hubs on an axle, ALL THOSE PROBLEMS would be over.

You'd simply use the springs as before to load and pull the bolts through their respective holes as before. Now, with the one bolt in place, reach through the center hole in the frame that's between the two bolt holes and using a finger, push on the head of that installed bolt. Your finger will now hold the bolt in place. Now, with that bolt held in place, you can remove the spring. Then, PUSH the very thing spring clip right over the threads of the bolt and it will "ratchet" down the threads until it bottoms out against the frame. You have now LOCKED that bolt in place and you can let got of it with your finger and that bolt isn't going anywhere!!!!!!!!

Now, do the same for the second bolt. Now, both bolts are held firm in place WITHOUT the long and cumbersome tails of the springs. You can now grab the mount plate and push it up into place and over both exposed sets of threads at the same time WITHOUT FEAR of pushing the bolts back into the frame. You can now hold that mount plate in place while you grab one nut at a time and thread it all the way on. Then do the same for the other nut.

To me, this would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than the method you (and I, and any installer, be it a shop or a home install) are presently using. If I had a link to what kind of clip I'm talking about, I'd link it.

But, those clips are seriously thin yet are quite capable of retaining those bolts and will not hinder the mate-up of the mount plate to the frame sides. Sure seems worth a looking into to me. Just a suggestion.

These were a great addition to my truck. I moved from Washington to Michigan 1 year ago. Heavily loaded trailer and truck. No sag, no issues. Full disclosure I had to get some custom U bolts made because of my setup, but I have had zero issues. Great buy.

I plumbed my airlines through the license plate which turned out to be very handy.

by:

I didn’t do the install myself. However my mechanic talked me into these after adding a rack and rooftop tent to my ‘14 Tacoma. Absolutely Fantastic. I have a 3” suspension lift and the truck handles as near to stock as I can remember. Awesome product. Easy install (according to mechanic). Thanks all. Oh yes, one issue because I added a leaf spring when I lifted it. He had to find new shackles to allow for fit. FYI

by:

Install on a 2026 F350 SRW. Love the product and have zero issues with that itself. The reason for the 4 star is the clearance with the factory sway bar and brake lines. It does mention that in the instructions, however it's extremely tight and I'll definitely be checked for rubbing in the future to make sure I don't have clearance issues. Otherwise, they work great paired with the Airlift WirelessAIR compressory system, zero complaints on the usability of the product.

by:

Took my time and followed included instructions exactly. Went together well! Haven’t towed with them yet, but definitely raised the back of my Tacoma with 26 lbs of air pressure that I tested for leaks with! Feel like they’ll be a big improvement when towing our 4200 lbs. camper!

by:

Very easy step by step instructions, how to install. It took me about two hours in my driveway. I got it because I haul a 35' travel trailer. Makes the ride a whole lot smoother

by:

a very good choice. The F150 did not have enough stock suspension for my 24 foot trailer with a GVER 10,000lb. Now we all know the truck will pull that weight but when you hooked up it squatted. After installing the air lift it does not squat any more and the truck with a 5.0 has enough power to pull the weight. I had Monroe air shocks on it before but they would not do the job. I am very happy with the setup. I replaced the Monroe air shocks with Rancho shock's and the ride is amazing with or with out the trailer. This was a great investment for the long haul.

by:

Watched the install video twice before the shipment got here and had no problems installing it. Also installed the WirelessOne from Airlift at the same time. Picked up some 1/4" clamps to make the air lines look a little cleaner, and hold them in place during our snowy and icy winters. Including the WirelessOne system, it took about 8 hours from the time I washed the underside of the truck until I rolled it back out from the garage. Pulled the camper this morning and all my old issues have disappeared. Truck is level, trailer pulls great, and the cooling system is back to working as needed. Highly recommend this suspension kit!

by:

Im very impressed with these airbags. So far they are doing the job.
These come with all hardware and instructions. I put 20 psi with no load to see how long the air would hold up. 2 weeks later im now at 15 psi which I'm satisfied.
The previous bags of another brand didnt hold air well even with no leaks.
I can tell the difference in ride quality. I've loaded the bed with landscaping materials and towed my boat with 15 psi and still holding strong. Looking forward to towing my Travel Trailer.
Customer service has also been great!

Easy to install and directions were easy to follow.

by:

I just received the Air Lift kit, and have unpacked the box to check the contents. The kit has clearly been sold and returned because the hardware bags have been opened. That’s not cool! That being said, it appears that the only items missing are a few locknuts and washers. I will just have to buy those items locally.
It appears that the kit will fit, but I will have to confirm that when the install is complete.

We're sorry that happened! I'll have one of our Customer Service folks reach out to you about the missing hardware.

by:

I haven’t hooked to the fifth wheel with them yet but couldn’t be happier with the install . I expect them to perform well.

by:

These air springs are just as advertised. They were delivered in good time, and were installed by me with very little trouble. Some of the bolts are too long and have to be cut off so they don’t interfere with existing parts.

by:

The Product quality is great, instructions and customer service outstanding! Delivery was in a timely manner however there was one small problem dont know if it was my doing and not ordering the correct part for my 2025 ford f350 dually crew cab 4×4, the bolt that comes down to the axle to secure bottom of air bag on passenger side front bolt is extremely close to roll bar, I trimmed the bolt is much is i could and try to locate where i thought would be fine, not a deal breaker once the rally bar only touched when I jacked up the body of truck more than 2.5" however let me know if this is my mistake or something that can be improved on the product. Driver side assembly is fine here is a few pictures of installed product, thank you!

by:

2024 F350 SRW everything fits perfect. 1 year in and very satisfied. I put a leveling kit on my truck and use the bags to prevent the ass end sagging when hauling.

I just have the schrader valve bolted to a hole on the hitch. I keep a little 12v tire inflator in the tool box of my dump trailer. Pump the bags up to 30-35psi good to go.

That is great to hear! I am glad after a year you are still liking the setup, and most importantly still bringing that rear end back to level. What are you towing with that F350?

  • Difference Between Air Lift AL79DQ and AL73DQ for 2023 Ford F-350 4WD
Hey Tony! The kits are designed for two different vehicle configurations. The # AL79DQ is designed for single rear wheel trucks and the # AL73DQ is designed to fit the dually. Since that is the only difference between the two you will need to choose based on whether your F-350 is SRW or DRW. I also recommend adding an air compressor like the Air Lift WirelessONE # AL25980EZ. This will allow you to adjust the air bags no matter where you're towing from the cab of your truck. What kind...
