When heavy cargo or a trailer starts to make the back end sag, these Air Lift 1000 air springs step in with up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support. They fit inside your rear coil springs to help your suspension handle the weight without squatting. That keeps your vehicle level for better braking, steady steering, and proper headlight aim when you’re hauling or towing.
Every load is different, and this kit lets you find the sweet spot for each one. With adjustable pressure from 5 psi up to 35 or 50 psi (depending on spring pitch), you can add just enough air to stay level and take out the bounce. Inflate each spring independently to straighten out off-center loads or uneven cargo. The manual Schrader valves make it easy to dial in your setup for towing days or daily driving.

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper springs. Now this kit is going to be for somebody who tows every once in a while. You just need something to kind of help lift the back end of your vehicle while you're towing, maybe something like a small pop-up camper, a load of gravel in the back of your truck, or some other kind of light duty work. This is going to be something that you just use occasionally. It's not meant for everyday towing or really heavy duty use.
So, again, if you're just going to be going for a trip for the weekend or going at once every summer, this is going to be a great option. The benefits that we get from this kit is that it does help us to lift the back end of our vehicle a little bit.It also helps to support those coil Springs in our vehicle. That way, whenever we're asking our vehicle to tow some weight, it's going to keep those Springs from failing prematurely. It doesn't allow you to carry any more weight than what your vehicle is rated for. So, keep that in mind, this doesn't increase the overall payload you get out of your towing vehicle, just helps you to lift and haul that weight more effectively.
So, that's something to keep in mind there. This is a universal kit. So, it's going to fit a lot of different vehicles. The easiest way to figure out if it's going to be a fit for your particular vehicle is to actually measure the coil Springs in your vehicle that you're trying to install it. You also want to make sure that your coil Springs don't have a shock in the middle or a jounce bumper.
If it does, then these are just not going to work. They're not going to fit in between there. So you'll have to try something else, maybe a static spring, like the Sumo spring or the Timbrens or another kind of a suspension system.But if that coil spring, doesn't have anything inside there. These are going to work out just fine. The bags themselves are going to be about five and a half inches tall.
So, from the bottom to the top, about five and a half inches there, and then the diameter is about seven. Excuse me, about three and seven-sixteenths of an inch. So, that's going to be the diameter there. So whenever you're measuring your coil spring, you want to make sure that the distance on the inside is between five and a half inches and six and a quarter.We do get a couple of spacers, so that helps you to fill that space there. And then this space in between the coils on the inside, that diameter needs to be about three and seven-eighths inch, as long as it's bigger than that by a little bit, this should work out pretty well. Comes with everything you see laid out here on the table. So we'll get some heat shields to help protect the bags from any kind of heat damaged from our exhaust. It also comes with some hose clamps. So you can get that wrapped around your exhaust. One set is a little bit bigger than the other. So even if you have a larger exhaust it should fit pretty well on there, just want to position it in a place where it's going to protect those bags from any kind of heat damage.Again, we have our two sets of spacers. So one is going to be a half inch thick. The other one is a quarter inch thick. So you can space those out to make sure that your bags are sitting in the right spot. Some zip ties quarter-inch airline, and then also all of our hardware to get that Schrader valve and stout installed so we can manually inflate those bags as needed. Also, you get a fun sticker, which is always nice to have.So all in all a pretty straightforward install. The easiest way to get the bags in place is to remove this little cap that comes with in a packaging, but hold onto it. And then if you flatten the bag out as much as possible, maybe even kind of rolling it up as much as you can to get all that air out, put that little cap back on. So it stays flat. That's going to make it easier to fish that inside of that coil spring, once it's in place, you can remove that cap. It's going to fill up with air and fill up that space. So, that's one trick to get that in place.Again, all in all I think this is going to be a nice kit to help alleviate a lot of those issues that we typically have a towing, things like a limited breaking force from that back end being lowered down. A lot of times it brings the front end up, so that can make your brakes not as quite as responsive as they should be. Same thing with the steering and all those kinds of things. So by having these in place, it helps to alleviate those issues, and also again helps to support your OEM suspension so it lasts longer and helps you to tow more effectively. As far as the specs with this, as the name suggests we can lift about a thousand pounds with this kit, again, that doesn't help you lift that much more weight. It just helps you to carry it more effectively. So always go off of the owner's manual and it's recommended weight regulation or weight stipulation and same thing for any component in your system, always go off with the lowest number for any component in your system.The manufacturer does recommend that you have between five and 35 PSI or pounds per square inch of pressure inside the bags. So, at least five pounds of pressure at all times up to 35 pounds per square inch. It does have a 60 day satisfaction guarantee and a limited lifetime warranty on the bags from airlift. And that's pretty much all there is to it for this kit. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you. The airlift system works very well. I installed a leveling kit on my truck. Even with a small load in the bed of my truck, the truck showed sag. With the airbags, I can inflate to the desired height before I load the bed and it doesn't appear to squat!
This air spring kit leveled our RAV4 just the right amount. We towed a LivinLite 8.1 all over the western US with no issues. The install takes a bit of effort (and do be sure to measure carefully if using a universal fit), but once in it was easy to set the pressure and I had no troubles with leaking. I ran the air valve to the side of the hitch to keep it out of the way.

its been a year of using the lift kit on the Jeep Wrangler Rubi (4door). no issues. did replace the clips with tighter fitting clips.

I want to thank you very much for the help on fitting the correct air lift bag for my mopar lifted wrangler. I spent countless hours searching the web unsuccessfully for the information you provided. I haven’t installed yet, however Kevin took care of me when I ordered the wrong kit. He immediately sent out the correct kit and I received it in time for our trip. I will be installing this today and I know this is going to be an excellent product.
Used this along with a controller kit to add helper bags to my 2014 Q5 TDI. A year later and it is working perfectly. Helps with the teeter tottering and stability when towing close to the maximum capacity.
Works great , I put a Bluetooth compressor with it.
