The integrated, flush design of the Yakima BaseLine FX keeps the crossbars tight to the roofline for a clean, built-in appearance. Nothing sticks out past the towers, so the rack blends right in while keeping a streamlined, aerodynamic look. It’s a setup that looks like part of the vehicle—not an add-on bolted to the top.
Wind noise can be one of the most distracting parts of driving with a roof rack. The aero-style aluminum crossbars quiet things down by reducing drag as air moves over them. Push-down rubber strips sit in the top channels to both seal against vibration and smooth airflow, helping reduce that annoying whistle and hum so highway drives stay comfortable.
Whether it’s kayaks in summer, skis in winter, or a cargo box for road trips, this rack is ready for it all. The crossbars accept both channel-mount accessories and clamp-on carriers, so you can use a wide range of attachments—bike racks, water-sport cradles, or cargo baskets—without needing special adapters. It’s an easy way to keep all your adventure gear covered in one system.
The Yakima BaseLine FX is made from sturdy aluminum that holds up under regular use while staying light enough for easy handling. With a 165 lb weight capacity (always follow your vehicle’s roof limit), it gives you solid support for hauling everything from camping gear to paddleboards. The black finish keeps it looking sharp trip after trip.
You can secure your setup with Yakima Same Key System lock cores (sold separately). They let you lock both the rack and channel-mount accessories with one key, adding a layer of theft deterrence when you leave your vehicle parked overnight or at a trailhead.

I’ve lost a second cover. Some shifting of the rack but I use it weekly.
