These 43-inch square bars are compatible with accessories that clamp around the bars, making it easy to add kayak carriers, bike racks, or roof boxes without special adapters. The square shape is tried and true—it just works with all kinds of attachments so you can switch up what you’re carrying without swapping out your roof rack.
You can add Thule’s One-Key System locks (sold separately) to help deter theft of the rack. It’s a quick upgrade that ties both sides of the system together with one key, giving you an extra layer of security when your vehicle is parked overnight or at the trailhead.

Still three stars. Very fiddle-y to get right. The older clip in footer type is much easier to use.

We have logged about 15000 miles with the Thule roof storage rack and have not had any problems. It is a great product.
