Question:
I have a Thule Evolution Cargo Box which I am trying to put on my 2001 Nissan Xterra using the factory crossbars. The quick clips on the evolution are a quarter inch to small to fit around the factory crossbars on the nissan xterra. I was wondering if wider quick clips are sold, or if a there is an adapter that can be used to attach the box to wider crossbars.

According to my contact at Thule, there are two options that will get your Evolution cargo box to fit on your Xterra.
The first option would be to replace your existing mounting hardware with part # TH04997. This is not the nice, easy snap hardware that your box has now, and might involve slight modifications to the hole pattern of the box, but it would work according to Thule.
Your other option would be to retain your existing mounting hardware for the box, but go with a smaller diameter crossbar. This can be done by installing the Thule Evo Raised Rail Kit, which consists of parts # TH710401 and # TH712100. Although it is a more expensive option, I would recommend going this route if you use the box often. The crossbars are very easy to install, and will provide a secure mounting point that will allow you to use the mounting hardware already in place on your cargo box.
