Features to know about
No Drilling: Custom Brackets Make Installation Simple
This Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rail and Custom Installation Kit comes with brackets that line up with existing holes in the frame, so no drilling is needed. The custom-fit design drastically reduces install time and avoids known obstacles under the bed. The mounting brackets sit beneath the truck bed to provide solid attachment points for the above-bed base rails, giving you a clean and sturdy setup for your fifth-wheel hitch.
Flexible Hitch Options: Works with Multiple Fifth Wheel Brands
You’re not locked into a single hitch brand with this kit. The above-bed base rails use the industry-standard pattern, making them compatible with popular fifth-wheel hitches from B&W, Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley. That means if you already own one of those hitches—or plan to swap in the future—you won’t have to change out the rails.
Built Strong for Long-Term Use
Made of black powder coated steel, the base rails and brackets resist corrosion and hold up well to heavy towing use. Each kit includes two base rails, all required brackets, and hardware so you can complete your setup in one go. It’s a straightforward way to get durable fifth-wheel rails that fit right and stay solid over time.

I do have a sliding 5th wheel hitch that will work on a 2009 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2' bed, the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550040 which has a unique auto-slide mechanism that won't require you to get out of the truck each time you need to make a sharp turn. In order to use this, you'll need the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit part # DM8552004-71.
Please note, most sliding 5th wheel hitches don't provide enough... view full answer...
Hey Ifontok, it looks like you need the Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # DM8552004-71.
This kit includes the base rails, the side plates, and all the hardware needed for install. view full answer...
The Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider # C16521 referenced in your question features a non-binding slider that will require manual operation before making a tight turn. This is not an automatic slider.
If you would like the convenience of not having to get out of the cab to operate the slider every time you make a tight turn, I recommend taking a look at the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 instead. This heavy-duty hitch does have an automatic slider... view full answer...
The 2014 Ford F-150 5.0 V8 will work for you to pull that trailer. Based on my research, the maximum towing capacity for the F-150 varies depending on the cab and bed styles. However, I found that even the cab and bed with the lowest maximum towing capacity for the 5.0L V8 with 3.55 rear axle will still pull up to 12,900 pounds, approximately 2,000 pounds more than your trailer's weight.
Since the truck has a 6.5 foot bed, we strongly recommend using a sliding fifth wheel hitch because... view full answer...
I do have an option for you but with a super short bed (less than 6-1/2') you'll need either a rotating pin box or extended slide fifth wheel hitch. It does not look like anyone makes a rotating pin box for the Fabex 520 you have so you're left with the extended slide and the only option out there for this at this time is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550040. This hitch can slide back 22.5" which is enough to make full turns with the truck and most trailers.... view full answer...
For the 2013 Ford F-150 you will first need an installation kit, # RP50081-58. This will provide the attachment point for the hitch.
For a 5th wheel hitch I recommend # RP30047. This is a great entry level hitch with dual jaw and 4-Way pivoting head. It is rated for 16,000 pounds which is likely more than the truck but check the owner's manual to be sure.
Since you have a short bed truck I recommend using a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer. But for that I would need to know the manufacturer... view full answer...
For the Demco Hijacker # DM8550035 I recommend the Demco Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552004-71, which is a fit for a 6-1/2' or 8' bed on a 2013 Ford F-150. These rails will allow you to mount your Hijacker and the brackets are a custom-fit for your truck, meaning there is not going to be any type of drilling into your F-150's frame to install them and is going to significantly reduce the amount of time it will take for installation.
The other option is the Demco Base Rails... view full answer...
I always recommend people go with a custom fit rail kit for their truck as they reduce install time and the amount of vehicle drilling required when compared to a universal kit. For your 2013 Ford F-150 short bed I have a great recommendation.
For rails you would want the Demco custom kit part # DM8552004-71 and then since you have a short bed truck you would need a slider hitch to allow you to make tight turns. The Demco Hijacker part # DM8550034 would be a great choice as it will automatically... view full answer...
