Long drives can get loud when wind hits your roof rack. These Vortex Aero crossbars use slim, elliptical aluminum bars and rubberized Vortex strips in the top channels to disrupt airflow and cut down on whistling. The result is a quieter ride without needing an extra fairing, even at highway speeds.
If you like a clean look, this rack nails it. The flush design means the crossbars end right at the support legs—no awkward overhang. It blends in with your roofline for a streamlined, from-the-factory appearance. When you take the bars off, precision-molded inserts cover the mounting pads for a tidy finish.
These crossbars are made from lightweight, structural-grade anodized aluminum with internal H-shaped extrusions for strength without extra weight. They’re rustproof, so you can leave them on year-round. The legs are UV-treated, glass-reinforced nylon that stands up to weather extremes and long exposure to sunlight.
You can mount bike racks, kayak carriers, or ski holders right into the built-in C-channels. The split Vortex strips make it simple to fit hardware without trimming. If you prefer clamp-on accessories, those work too—the rubber strips add grip and cushioning. This flexibility makes it easy to swap setups for every season.
Each support leg has locking covers keyed alike to secure both the rack and any channel-mounted gear. The locks give the system a finished look while keeping your setup safe when parked overnight or at the trailhead.

I got this roof rack for transporting my canoe on my 2012 CRV - the roof rack installs very easily and didn't take much time to put together. It goes on/off the car easily, so I can take the bars off when I don't need them. I don't notice much noise or difference in driving quality with the bars on vs off.

Good quality, functional, and looks great. Only complaint but a big one, there is a ton of wind noise with these on a Highlander. So bad that you cannot have the moon roof open at speeds over 30 mph. We removed the bars and capped the foot holes for the summer. Not ideal.
We've had this a little more than a year now for our Toyota Highlander, and it's holding up well for limited use with luggage and a Christmas tree. As I recall, the installation wasn't exactly a breeze, but it's stayed in place ever since.
I received the Rhino Rack and was able to install the rack after looking over the instructions. There could be a little more detail in the description of the four pads to be bolted on the roof prior to installing the rails. All was completed in about 30 minutes.
The rails themselves are a very strong extruded aluminum, and very aerodynamic.
Seems to be a great rack.
I watched the YouTube video and installation was pretty easy for my 2019 Highlander.

Excellent product for my Toyota Highlander. Easy to install and easy to use.
These bars are 5 star if you don't have the hassle of getting defective parts. After initially receiving the bars I spent almost 2 months waiting for parts to correct the issue. Note: this was not etrailer's fault. It was solely Rhino Rack, which made good with the problem - it just took a long time.
The batwing awning and cross bars are the key to my cross country camping trip. It makes my car a very comfortable camper. I am so happy with this product. Customer service staff are terrific. They are responsive and knowledgeable about what I needed to get my awning attached.
Constant whistling.
Installed on 2017 highlander. The gaps in between the edges of the crossbars create a whistle that is audible when the sunroof is open.
I know this kit is trying to accommodate different vehicles but for paying $400 there should be no gaps and no whistling. Gonna try rubber bands or tape there and close the gaps and see if that helps.

It is very common to experience loud wind noise when the sun roof is opened while using a roof rack. It is not recommended to leave the sun roof opened because of the level of noise.
Great bundled product for the 2016 Toyota Highlander. The bars come pre-cut to fit the car perfectly. Very simple install. Easy for one person to do in less than 20-30 minutes.
Rack looks good. Will try it out in a few weeks. Thanks for the video instructions ETrailer. The written instructions aren’t the greatest.

Our Rhino Rack has been great. It fit perfectly, and I’ve used it to haul backs with Yakima Rack adapters, lumber, ladders, etc. the Highlander mounts are kind of close together, resulting in anything long cantilevering out quite a bit, and the rack is strong enough to support that. I’m not using it for massive loads up there, just a ladder, or a few pieces of lumber, though. I wouldn’t load it like a contractor’s rack, lol.
