Today on our 2006 Ford F150 we'll be test fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex Roof Rack System using part numbers RRVA150B-2, RRRLKVA, and DK150. We'll begin our test fit by placing the front crossbar onto the front of our roof. We'll then need to measure two hundred and eighty millimeters from the center of the door jamb to the center of our foot pack. We'll need to make this measurement on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle to ensure the front crossbar is perpendicular to the roof and the pads contour to the roof line correctly. With the bar in position we then need to pull back some of the weather stripping to insert the clip in between the weather stripping and the seam of our door. Once this is done we'll use the included tightening tool to tighten down the black bolt, tightening down each side a little bit at a time, just to make sure the bar stays centered. Once everything is all tightened down and secure we can place our rear bar onto the rear of our roof and measure the crossbar spread.
Now the crossbar spread is the measurement from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. It's also important when choosing roof rack accessories. The crossbar spread is five hundred and twenty millimeters. We need to make this measurement on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle to ensure that both bars are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the roof of our Ford. Again, using the included tool to tighten down the black bolt.
Once everything is all tightened down and secured we can go ahead and install the locking covers. With everything all tightened down and secured and our covers locked that will complete today's test fit for the Rhino Rack Vortex Roof Rack System using part numbers RRVA150B-2, RRRLKVA, and DK150 on our 2006 Ford F150. .
