Video Transcript for Thule Pulse Cargo Box Review

Today, well be reviewing the Thule Pulse line of rooftop cargo boxes. Weve laid out all three boxes in the Pulse line and as you can see here, the difference between them is the size. The Pulse Alpine cargo box, part number TH613 has a carrying capacity of 11 cubic feet. As you can see, its longer, making it more suited for carrying larger items, like skis.Next, the Pulse large cargo box, part number TH614. It has a carrying capacity of 14 cubic feet. Finally, we have the Pulse XL cargo box.

Part number TH 615, which has a carrying capacity of 16 cubic feet. These cargo boxes are an economical way to carry anything from groceries and gardening equipment to small duffle bags and carry-on luggage. The easy grip mounting hardware allows for simple, tool-free installation onto your rooftop crossbar. To mount your Pulse cargo box, simply place the box onto your crossbars and insert the easy grip clamps into the rubber-lined mounting slots in the bottom of the box. The mounting slots are on track, which allows you to position the clamps over your crossbars, even if your vehicle has a shorter roof. Keep in mind, the crossbar spread must be a minimum of 23-5/8 inches.

Once you have your clamps positioned properly, simply turn the hand knobs to tighten them down and your box is secure.Well now show you what each of the boxes look like on the roof and how they interact with the rear cargo door. First, is the TH 613 Pulse Alpine. Now, as you can see, because of its extended length, the cargo door on this particular vehicle does come in contact with it. Keep that in mind before you make your purchase, as it may interfere with entry into your cargo area. Next is the TH 614, the Pulse large and finally, the TH 615, the Pulse XL.

Notice that neither of these, when positioned correctly on the roof, will come in contact with the rear carpet door. Each of these boxes have an extremely low profile and an aerodynamic shape that helps to reduce drag and wind noise when your vehicle is in motion. They feature a single-side opening lid, so you can safely load your good early anesthetic response from the passenger side of the vehicle and include a built in strap that makes it easy to open and close the lid. The cargo boxes also have an oversized secure lock on the passenger side. This specially designed lock prevents you from removing the key if the box is not properly closed and locked to eliminate the possibility of your box coming open as you travel down the road. The lock includes a Thule one-key system core.

You can swap it out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike. Now, these are two load straps included with the cargo boxes that connect to the built in anchor points on the easy grip hardware to secure your gear in the box. The Pulse line is constructed of rugged inaudible 00:03:32 to resist impact, whether in harsh UV rays and the matte black finish adds a touch of elegance when the box is mounted to your roof. Each box has a carrying capacity of up to 110 pounds. They are made in the USA and come with a limited lifetime warranty. Now that weve gone over some of the features and specs of the Thule Pulse line of cargo boxes. Well load up some gear our TH 614 and show you how they look driving down the road.

Great product. Great company. Reasonable delivery time. Would do business with e-trailer again! Thanks 602434

- TH613

Great rack. Low profile fits on Toyota Highlander into standard height garage. Stays on all winter for skis plus a couple times throughout the year for other trips. Fits at least four pairs of skis. 601609

- TH613

Perfect for vehicles with limited space between bike carriers for mounting. This was the narrowest clam shell I could find. Fits 2 inflatable stand up paddle boards plus more. The only tricky thing with this unit was figuring out how to change the lock core (it's a different process than other Thule products) to match my other locks on the vehicle, but the etrailer video on this topic came to the rescue. 544286

Love the low profile.= less wind resistance and better mpg. Lock keeps valuables safe and dry. Exactly what I wanted. 438517

Ask the Experts about this Thule Roof Box

Do you have a question about this Roof Box?

  • Lo Profile Cargo Box Options for a 2006 Toyota Highlander with Factory Roof Rack
  • So basically you want to keep the overall height of the 2006 Highlander including the cargo box under 7 feet tall. If the height of the vehicle itself is 5 feet 9 inches tall then that leaves 15 inches to work with. Like you said you could use the SkyBox Lo, # Y07338, since it is 11-1/2 inches tall. You could also use: Thule Pulse Alpine, # TH613, at 12-1/2 inches tall Inno Wedge, # INBRM660BK or # INBRM660WH, at 11 inches tall Inno Shadow, # INBRA1150BK, at 11-3/4 inches tall Inno...

  • How Much Height Above Crossbar Does Thule Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box Add
  • You have a keen eye because the Thule Pulse Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box # TH613 is recessed; I checked with Thule and this cargo box will add 11.3 inches of height above your crossbar, making it one of the lowest-profile rooftop cargo boxes on the market. Aside from its low-profile the Pulse Alpine is also among the easiest cargo boxes to handle because it weighs just 30 lbs. It is simple to use with mounting hardware that you only need to tighten with hand knobs and even locks to keep...

  • Thule Roof Cargo Box for 2011 Honda CR-V with Factory Crossbars to Carry 4 Pair of Skis
  • I suggest the Thule Pulse Alpine, part # TH613, for your 2011 Honda CR-V. It's confirmed by Thule to fit the factory crossbars and can hold 4 to 6 pairs of skis that are up to 210 cm long. The overall weight capacity is 110 pounds. The Pulse Alpine also includes locks. I've linked a video review for you to take a look at as well.

  • Fishing Rod Carrier for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Carrying fishing poles in a roof box is almost identical to carrying skis, in that you're looking at the internal measurements of the box. The Thule Pulse Alpine, pat # TH613, measures 84-1/2 inches long internally so it would be ideal for you. It also includes locks which is great because security is one of the main advantages you get from going with a box. The Inno Fishing Rod Carrier, part # INIF3, will be limited to the overall length of the vehicle. The rack installs into the...

  • How to Carry Cargo on Crossbars With a 50 Inch Spread
  • There is a way for you to carry cargo on crossbars that have a 50 inch spread but rooftop cargo boxes like the Thule Pulse Alpine # TH613 or Inno Wedge 660 # INBRM660BK cannot be modified to accommodate a spread of that size. The reason for that is they use sliding clamps to adjust to different crossbar spreads so you would not be able to drill holes to allow those clamps to work properly. This rack is aerodynamic, all black, and looks as though it was from the factory so it will look great on your Durango. Now for a cargo box that won't interfere with the opening of your hatch. • Thule Cargo Box Recommendation that Allows Rear Hatch to Open
  • To determine if the Thule Pulse Alpine Roof Cargo Box part # TH613 will allow the rear hatch of your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon with factory crossbars to open will require you to take one simple measurement. You will need to measure from the center of the front crossbar back to the seam on the hatch. If that distance is greater than 55-1/4 inches this box will allow the rear door to open. We had a customer with a similar 2015 Subaru Outback tell us that the distance they have there was 51...

There are some exclusions though so I would need to know the year of your Ford Explorer to determine if the box fits the factory or dealer bars.
