Video Transcript for Fulton Trailer Winch FWC7500100 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at Part number FWC7500100. This is the Fulton galvanized Wench cable. It's going to have the hook on one end, and the exposed cable on the other end. The exposed cable end is going to be the end that feeds into the wench. You're going to have the cable with the safety latch on the opposite side. It's designed for use with Fulton wenches.

It's a galvanized cable, very strong and very durable. Again, it's going to include that hook with the safety latch to prevent accident while disconnecting. The overall length of the cable is going to measure 50 feet long. Cable's going to give us a diameter of 7/32 of an inch. The maximum load or break strength is 5,600 pounds.

A safe working load limit is 1,865 pounds. Please note that all straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit, which is always going to be a third of their maximum load or break strength. That's going to do it for today's review of part number FWC7500100. .

I tried to write a review on your link
below, but no luck tonight. We have completed our ATV/Tractor log arch (pictures attached) of which included the Dutton-Laison Hand Winch (DL14881) and the 7/32" x 50' Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable(FWC7500100). I purchased both items from etrailer, and together they work to easily drag and then load up 14" to 22" white pine logs into the log arch. While most logs are 8' long, the winch will easily handle a 16' log. The winches hand brake works very well in tandem with the down mode of the winch handle, when lowering a heavy log back onto the ground. Both of these items met and exceeded my expectations for both quality and price point, plus another bonus is the winch is made in the USA. I am very happy to say that you and etrailer have made our log arch project a big success!

I use my Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Winch with Hex Drive and Fulton Winch Cable to raise and lower my Purple Martin Gourd Racks. They were an excellent choice and I just use a Cordless Drill to do all the work.! My old winches had cranks. They were jerky and hard to crank! These winches are so easy to use, no cranking, no straining, no sweat, they stop when you stop.!! Very Strong, Safe and Reliable Winches that work Great!! Wish I'd got them years ago!

Worked well to lift 34' X 18" Laminated Veneer lumber.

as per usual, etrailer delivery is quick (though still awaiting one back order item-1.5 wks).

Before ordering, I posted a question that wasn't exactly answered. In spite of the "e-trailer expert" recommending a different winch and a different mounting plate, the D-L winch with worm gear (listed below) retrieves more than adequately for safety when outfitted with 3/8" drive hand drill.

This set up (once 2" receiver mounting bar arrives), will be ideal to winch our light weight travel trailer up a slight incline into our angled storage unit.

Has been working great for a year, used twice a day for our bedroom stairs in our tiny house. Very easy to use. We use synthetic line so it doesn't bind and is much quieter than steel cable for our use. Our stairs are a couple of hundred pounds and the winch pulls it up with no issue and the brake works fantastic.

I bought this cable to replace the cable on a pontoon scissor lift trailer winch. Cable rating for this size is much higher than big box store ones. Hook already on is a bonus. Very quick delivery and excellent communication from the seller. Great company to deal with.

I would have rather spent 300 dollars on a nylon fulton boat winch than this cable. After winding it up the cable gets stuck, and is very hard to release.

Cable seems very high quality. heavy duty. Should work well for my car trailer.

I always shop etrailer when I am looking for trailer parts. Fast Service.

Good, powerful Fulton winch. Cable loaded good. Winch is awesome. Good quick service from nice folks.

Shipped fast. High quality wire rope. Nice product.

Great cable for me! Works well on the Fulton Winch

Love this boat synch, very heavy duty
boat weighs 10,000 lbs and this does a good job
Showed it to my boat dealer and they liked it
Thanks e-trailer

Cable assembly appears great. Courteous and prompt customer service. Weld at end of cable could have been a little less bulky, but nothing a little grinder couldn't handle in seconds.

I ordered a manual winch for by boat trailer, but was unsure of the size, the woman on the phone helped me - she had a list of the required loads for different sloped boat ramps and helped me pick out the correct winch. She helped me tremendously. I was impressed that they would take that time to help.

Great product and even better service ! I ordered at 9.00pm and it was shipped I received the winch cable 36 hours later. Awesome service !!!!

I am now picking up winch and cable from USA tomorrow but your service is professional, timely and excellent

This product worked great for a boat trailer I have with a rusted cable. I saved a lot of money only buying what I needed instead of an entire winch assembly. Shipment came in on time.

The cable should handle the weight of my deer feeder.

No issues, proper parts at the cheapest price I could find.

John M.

The MC has held up fine, works as it issues.

exactly what i ordered and received very quickly

absolutely satisfied

Worked as advertised, did the job!

A perfect match to the wench.

Has worked very well. No problems at all.

its been over a year and the product is working just fine.

The winch is great. It bolted on immediately. It feels like a solidly built piece of gear.

Product is as advertised. I believe it to be of good quality.

  • Winch Strap Recommendation that Won't Corrode
We don't carry any winch wire ropes that are made from stainless steel. The galvanized cables hold up pretty well though. I have yet to hear back from a customer who had a rust issue with theirs. But a different option you could consider would be a strap since they aren't metal and wouldn't corrode or rust. I attached a link to a page that has all of the winch straps we carry. Your winch would have to be able to accept a strap though.

  • Replacement Wire Rope Recommendation for Superwinch LT2000
The Superwinch LT2000 winch has a 50 foot long wire rope with a 5/32 inch diameter so for a replacement the best I can currently offer is the # FWC7500100 which is 7/32 and 50 foot and you'd be set. There's no way to convert the winch to a synthetic rope. I attached a picture that covers how the replacement is done as well.

  • Which Replacement Cable Do I need For my Superwinch AC1000 AC Powered Winch
The replacement cable you will need for the Superwinch AC1000 AC Powered Winch to match the factory cable is 5/32" x 45' with Latched Hook. I recommend the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook - 50' x 7/32" - 5,600 lbs # FWC7500100 as a replacement. It will be very similar and will work well. When installing the replacement wire rope you will want to spool the cable up under a load so that the outer layers do not pull down into the inner layers and cause them to bind up.

  • Is the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable # FWC7500100 Galvanized Steel
I checked with Fulton and the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable # FWC7500100 that you referenced is galvanized steel. Beyond that the cable is 50 feet long and 7/32 inch wide, has a max load of 5,600 lbs and has a 1,865 lb safe working load limit.

  • Does the Pro Series Standard Brake Winch Include a Cable Holder
The Pro Series Standard Brake Winch # PSKR10000301 includes a cable clamp on the side of the winch. This clamp allows for the cable to be looped over the drum and through the side of the winch and secured. This winch is designed for use with aircraft grade cable only. It allows for 50 feet of cable to be stored on the drum, with a maximum cable diameter of 7/32 of an inch. If you need cable the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook is available as part # FWC7500100, and is 50 feet long...

Though we have an option of winch cable for your Fulton Winch # F142421 we do not carry the 7/32x100 cable. We have the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook # FWC7500100. The cable is 7/32 inches and is 50 foot long. The cable has a maximum load (break strength) of 5,600 pounds and has a safe working load limit of 1,865 pounds. All straps and cables should be chosen according to their Safe Working Load Limit (WLL). If the WLL of the strap is not given, simply divide the maximum capacity...

  • What is the Weight Capacity of the Fulton Winch # F142430 With Drum Full of Cable
I spoke with my contact at Fulton who said that at one layer the weight capacity of the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142430 is 3,700 lbs. The only other weight capacity that he could tell me is that with 140' of the 7/32" cable, like the 50' # FWC7500100 you referenced, wound all the way up the weight capacity will be reduced to 1,500 lbs. Anything between that would be unknown and you would just have to subtract about 10% of the weight capacity for each layer after...

  • Replacement Winch for Fulton F3700
The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer # F142430 is the winch that replaced the T3700 you mentioned. This is a cable only winch but it would still be your best option. For a 50 foot cable you'd then want the part # FWC7500100 which would work well with this winch and is the cable Fulton recommend.

  • Recommended Hand Winches for Barge Application
The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, TUFFPLATE Finish, Two Speed with Direct Drive - Hand Brake - 3,500 lbs # DL14881 will be a really nice hand winch that will stand up well to the elements. I recommend the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook - 50' x 7/32" - 5,600 lbs # FWC7500100 for your application. I wouldn't go lighter as there is so much resistance from water until things get moving. I think you'll want the additional strength for the initial pull. The hand brake will also help...

The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142430 referenced in your question does indeed have a drum storage capacity of 185 feet of 7/32 inch cable. The longest 7/32 inch cable we have available is the Fulton # FWC7500100 that measures 50 feet long and also includes a hook. This hand winch features a 3,700 pound weight capacity and will work really nicely for your general purpose lifting or pulling as it does include a hand brake to let you manually control release of a load...

  • Availability of Winch that Can Lift 550 lb Load 37 Feet in Air
The Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Brake Winch # DL24844 certainly has the capacity for lifting a 550 lb load, but it really doesn't have the spool size available for a 37 foot long lift so that's where it would be an issue. We have the Dutton Lainson worm gear winch part # DL11001 which can have a longer 50 foot long cable like part # FWC7500100 installed on it that would work well for you.

Although we don't offer a 2 speed winch that has a brake, the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish - 2,500 lbs # DL15721 would meet all the rest of the parameters you listed. The winch will automatically hold the load when the handle is released, which means you won't need to hold the crank while fumbling around for the spool lever. Due to the 15 to 20 degree incline, the load even though rolling will be a substantial weight. It is equivalent to about a 30 percent increase in resistance. I've attached an article to help explain this. My recommendation for you is to use the Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake - Cable Only - Zinc - 3,700 lbs # F142430. This will give you the ability to use either higher speed or higher torque as needed. It will use a cable like # FWC7500100.

  • Recommend Hand Winch To Winch a 21.5 Foot 4,000 lb Boat
The guideline when selecting a winch is to weigh the boat when it is fully loaded and ready to travel with supplies, gas, etc. Then, take the gross weight and divide by 1.5, which will tell you the capacity winch you will need. You will want to weigh your boat with it loaded like you were going on a boat outing. If you are trying to winch the boat without submerging the trailer and not getting your bunks wet, this can add more strain to the winch. If you are doing so, you would want to...

The minimum 50lb weight load on the Pro Series Standard Brake Winch - Cable Only - 1,000 lbs Item # PSKR10000301 is required for the brake function to work properly. This is set by the manufacturer. If there is not a minimum of 50lbs then the brake feature on the winch may not engage. The 50lbs of pressure is what activates the brake feature. If you are concerned that you may be too close, you can always add some kind of weight down near the hook. This winch is also designed only to be...

  • Recommended Boat Trailer Winch For 5,000 lb Boat
We can get you set up with a good replacement for your 2,600 lb Fulton winch, but let's start with what you asked in regards to the strap vs. the cable, with the latter being the better choice. A strap is fine but there is a risk of fraying or tearing, which doesn't exist with the use of a cable, so I do recommend a winch and cable set up. In regards to the winch itself, winch capacity is at least 2-to-1, so if your boat weighs over 5,000 lbs, it is understandable why your 2,600 lb winch...

  • Will The Pro Series Standard Brake Winch, # PSKR15000301, Work To Pull A 12 Foot Boat Into A Garage
On the Pro Series Standard Brake Winch, # PSKR15000301, it is an automatic brake winch, so it will engage the brake whenever the handle is released even in the wind up position. The boat size to winch capacity is generally 2 to 1. For example, a 2,000 lb. boat will require a 1,000 lbs. winch. This brake winch has a weight capacity of 1,500 lbs with the cable only wrapped on the drum in one layer. For every layer of cable that is wound onto the drum it will reduce the weight capacity...

  • How to Determine What Size Boat that a Winch Can Pull
The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake # F142430 that you referenced has a 3,700 lbs weight capacity. The size and weight of the boat that it can pull really depends on what your boat trailer setup is like. A boat to winch size capacity is typically 2 to 1 which means that this particular winch should typically be able to pull a 7,000 lb boat. If you have good rollers and a short distance to pull then that could make the ratio 3 to 1. If you have wooden bunks...
