Oversize ratchets on these heavy-duty tie-downs have rubber-coated handles and release levers so you can easily tighten and loosen the straps. Corrosion-resistant double S-hooks are vinyl coated to help prevent scratches on cargo. 4,000 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty tie-down straps let you secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer
  • Oversize ratchet mechanisms make it easy to tighten down straps and maintain tension on straps
    • Rubber handles provide grip
  • Release levers on ratchets let you loosen straps when you're ready to unload
  • Vinyl coating on double S-hooks helps prevent scratches on your gear

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 2" wide x 10' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 1,333 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 4,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 ratchet straps

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Video Transcript for Erickson Ratchet Straps - Standard Strap - EM34410 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number EM34410. These are the Erickson Easy Ratchet tie-down straps with the nice, large release levers. The heavy-duty tie-down straps are going to let you secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer. These straps are going to feature an over-sized ratcheting mechanism, which makes it easy to tighten down and get the proper tension on the strap that you need to secure your load. It's going to maintain the tension on the straps. They have a nice rubber handle grip, so it's going to provide great grip. One of the things I really like is right here on the release lever, sometimes those can really be hard to get a good grip on, but they have finger indention, so you put two fingers on there and pull back.

That's going to allow the mechanism to open up, which would allow you to disengage the strap or loosen the strap over the load that you had tightened down. Now on each end, you're going to notice that it has the double S hook. These are going to have a really nice vinyl coating on them, so it's going to prevent scratches on your gear and anchor points. The strap itself is a bright yellow strap, makes it really highly visible. They got a nice heavy duty stitching down here at the connection points where it connects to the double S hooks, and they're going to last a long time. They're very strong, very durable.

They're going to measure 2-inches wide by 10-feet long. With this part number, you're going to get two straps. I just pulled one out because they're both identical. Each strap is going to have a safe-working load limit of 1,330 pounds and a maximum load or break strength rating of 4,000 pounds. Always keep in mind that tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe-working load limit.

That means that the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. I already have the long strap in the ratchet mechanism because I want to show you have easy this thing is to ratchet. Once you have this placed over your load and you have the S hooks in their anchor points, all you have to do is open up the mechanism here and tighten the strap down over your load. Now when you're ready to disengage the strap or loosen the strap, all you got to do is pull up on that release lever, open the mechanism, and that's going to allow the strap to be disengaged. Really nice, simple design. You can see here that on the actual steel components, the mechanism itself kind of has a yellow chrome tint to it.

That's going to be a chromate finish. That's going to protect the ratcheting mechanism and all those metal components from any type of rust or corrosion from being able to settle in. That's going to do it for our review of part number EM34410. These are the Erickson Easy Ratchet tie-down straps with the nice release levers.

  • Recommended Tie-Down Method for Trucks On Trailer
With straps going from front of vehicle to front of trailer and back of vehicle to back of trailer, you are basically immobilizing the truck. If you were to run straps from the rear axle to the middle and front axle to the middle you are basically doing the same thing but you are putting more stress on centering the load weight. Both are methods of stabilizing and immobilizing the load, but the trailer will play a big part in what may be the better choice. Centering the load so you have...
