RV and boat owners have long relied on Twist Lock style connections for powering their rides. For years, it has been the best option for connecting to shore power. It's been reliable, but most know it's not without disadvantages:
SmartPlug's connector addresses each of these concerns and does all of the heavy lifting.
Locking arms grab the inlet, a clamp inside the plug body holds the cord, the inlet cap snaps to the top while in use, and the integrated seals weatherproof the connection. This helps prevent the wiggly, dirty connections that increase electrical resistance, which creates potentially dangerous heat.
Since it uses a square plug face, SmartPlug is able to use flat pins which create far more surface contact, further reducing the risk of high heat and electrical arcing. The square shape and flat pins also make it easy to plug in - no more twisting or guessing if the pins are lined up correctly.

The plug connection itself is nice,but the wire connections inside have small allen wrench screws that strip fairly easy and small screws and cheap clear cap and hold down out of plastic, plus i appreciate e trailer sending me and opened box that clearly somwbody took apart and maybe installed then put back in the box. I hate getting something new that somebody else monkeyed with. This plug is about $100 over priced
Product arrived in a timely manner, printed instructions were reasonably good & informative. Communications with etrailer were outstanding!
I received at least two emails updating me on the shipping dates and another one when it shipped. The Smartplug was on back order and they kept me up to date.
I had been looking at this plug for awhile before I bought it. I was living full time in my camper. And my old twist style plug kept blowing the breaker on the power box. Bought this to replace it. No problems at all cents then. Love it. Easy to in stall.
Great customer service
This is a very well-built and designed product. I love the fact that it snaps securely to the inlet, and that the inlet closes securely when not in use. I got this to replace the mouse door that typically comes on campers (a huge hole port with a door that leaves a large gap while the cord is in use!). Keeping mice out is worth the price already, and this is a much better quality connector than I usually see on campers these days that use the detachable twist-lock type cords. Still working great after a year of use.
The SmartPlug installed great and after a year of heavy use continues to perform perfectly! Electrical hookups are now quick and positive with solid connections!
Not that easy to install on my Airstream, but glad I took the time to do so. WAY better than OEM, and more secure fit.
I would recommend this to my friends.

This plug is so much better than the OEM twist lock plug! It wasn't difficult to install and appears to be a quality item.
Clear directions supplied. approxmately 1 hr install. Nice positive lock when the plug clicks to lock in. No wondering if it rotates to loosen. Wont have to worry about loose connection hot spot again. Highly recommend this product

I Just installed this today. This plug is awesome! It is part of my mouse proofing project. Mice were coming in thru the the old cable opening. That is another story. The directions on this were easy to follow and clear. I didn’t think my cord would fit in the strain reliever but with enough soap it did. The only suggestion I have is that they include 4 stainless screws to fasten it to the camper. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
I like how it positively connects and stays put. I gave it 4 stars because of the price and because if you want to plug in a standard 120 volt power cord for a short stay at a friends then you have to purchase a very expensive adapter.
Thought this would be simple, but much harder to install than expected! The wiring anchor location and operation on the back side of the plug (the side on the trailer) is very difficult to manage with the size of wire used for a 30A circuit. Got it all to fit on the third try.
THEN, started in on the receptable (on the shore power cable). Getting that cable through the very tight water resistant sleeve was again very difficult. Lots of soap (use gloves!) and sore armss. But got it on.
Project took me 2-3hrs overall. I'd still recommend this thing, but it's not as simple as it looks to install.

The old style RV plugs are prone to have connection problems which causes melting of the unit. That happened to me in below freezing weather and we lost power to our trailer. This new plug will not have that problem. It fits together solidly and I don't worry about any loose connection. I have seen that the SmartPlug is now standard equipment on Airstream trailers. That's quite an endorsement. You Cann't go wrong with the SmartPlug system.

Product is still great. It was a good modification to our RV. Absolutely no problems at all.
The high quality kit install was very straightforward to install on my Sprinter van and should give many years of safe camping. Very pleased.
I haven’t installed the SmartPlug yet, it’s a bit cold for that. I have inspected the plus though. It’s a snug fit! So much better than the one in my trailer. I love how fast it got to my hous also Thank you for your service. Michael
Very good so far. Installation of the power cord was harder than I thought- but eventually got it done. I am overall very happy with my purchase.
I found the installation of the inlet easy and the modification of the connector very easy. The instructions were very easy to follow and very comprehensive.
The only issue was the rear cover (pictured) for the inlet could not fit at the front location of may 2019 Airstream Flying Cloud 27 ft. FB. I also installed the cable port.

I love the easy of operation and how well it holds the power cord. I have had no issues!
It is so easy and quick to hook up power when arriving at the campground. Just as easy to disconnect. Had 2 days of rain, just over an inch, and no issues with water intrusion. My wife used it for the first time and said is that it! Yes, it is expensive, but worth it.
Easy to install, very firm connection to trailer. Much, much better than the old twist-on 30 amp plug and inlet
Well instead of part number sm67fr I was sent b30assynt I guess that's the upgraded part. But this was 2nd b30assynt that the d rings didn't open enough to except 10 gauge strand . Had to flie d rings some and plastic cover. Will see how long it lasts. It did come in time from e trailer.
I just installed the smart plug on my Airstream this morning. It was very straightforward with the instructions. This new smart plug is easier to deal with when you are attaching it to the cable with the way the lock nut holds the cable in place going into the back of the plug.That was a pleasant surprise. I like the new design. Pleased so far!
Easy to install and so much better of a system to hook up power, plug and go. Highly recommend the Smart Plug for safety and ease of use, plus looks good too.
