Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: SmartPlug RV Power Cord

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this SmartPlug 25 foot long, 30 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male Marine Power Cord. Now, this cord will let you connect your boat to shore power using the SmartPlug multi-point locking system connector on this end. This is a 30 amp female connector. Plugs into a SmartPlug inlet that's on your boat. And you can see it is designed, you push into the SmartPlug connection and these clips on each side will lock it into place.

On the other end is your normal 15 amp wall plug connector that'll plug in at your dockside pedestal or into an extension cord. We mentioned the SmartPlug uses the multi-point locking system that ensures a nice, solid connection. You can see the sleeve design helps keep the weight and the tension off of the electrical pins themselves. The body of the whole plug will bear the weight to keep the points of electrical contacts secure. And you can see when you plug it in, it is a straight in connection of the female end right here.

Makes plugging in very easy, even in the dark. They do use triple weatherproof seals to help prevent water corrosion or overheating. And the other neat feature on this is if you look at the top of the connector right here. They have an LED reverse polarity indicator light, which will confirm the correct connection. So, basically, if this light is off when you plug it in, that means there's no power.

If you plug it in and there's a blue light on there, that's normal power. If you plug it in and there's a blue on and a red light on, that means it's reverse polarity. You need to switch it around. If you plug it in, it's just the red on, that means it's dangerous reverse polarity. You notice it comes with this nice snap-on clear cap.

It'll snap right in there, protects the terminals when it's not plugged in. And it's also clear, which helps you easily see the type of plug it in, plug it is because if you notice, it is marked there. So even with the cap on, you can see through it and see what type of plug it is. Now, the construction on this, all the external metals are Marine Grade 316 stainless steel. The electrical pins are nickel plated brass. The plastics used are all UV and heat resistant. You can see the cord itself is a nice, bright orange color for visibility, and it says made in the USA. Total length on this is 25 feet and the amperage, female end's 30 amps. Male end is 15 amps and the voltage is 125 volts. But that should do it for the review on the SmartPlug 25 foot long, 30 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male Marine Power Cord..

Heavy duty, Just as described!

I realize this is a user specific device but to anyone who has converted their rv to the 50amp smart plug this is very expensive but also very worth it I no linger will need my 50’ 50 amp cord coiled up under the trailer when it is plugged into the 15amp circuit to our house Excellent quality and extremely handy

by:

We are using the cable to connect a Bluetti battery bank to our sailboat. It works perfectly for our needs

fast delivery

by:

Order process was quick and easy. Item were delivered in a timely manner and worked as expected. No issues and certainly will consider using etrailor for future purchases.

by:

Quite expensive for a pigtail, but works great!

by:

Worked perfectly for our camper! No complaints highly recommend

by:

Extremely well built! You get what you pay for, even though it's quite expensive.

by:

The SmartPlug power cord adapter worked great on my Tiffin Wayfarer RV. I'm now able to keep my RV plugged into 15 am shore power.

by:

Once in stock received the product quickly and it did exactly what I wanted it to do.

by:

the smart plug 30 amp female to 15 amp male was tough to find. Thanks guys and girls

by:

Perfect OEM fit for my Airstream Trailer. This will provide the seamless power needed to keep my batteries topped up!

by:

It’s a power plug. It works as it should. Not sure why it needs to be so expensive though. Classic proprietary design language that allows corporate greed to screw us all.

by:

Works great! Fits tight, nice having the light that shows it’s plugged in. Very pleased with the plug.

by:

Built well but shipping took 13 days.....that's a little too long. Next time I will pay the extra money. Still...yal are a SUPER company!!!!

by:

Just what is needed to hookup trailer to house current for precamping setup

by:

This adapter is exactly the right solution to keep the Lithium batteries on my Classic Airstream charged. My storage facility provides a 120V connection for this purpose, and I have the right dog bone adapters to use the AS factory shore cable. But I'd rather not have the expensive factory cable lying about for security reasons. I put a 30' 10 gauge 15 amp extension cable on this that cost about $40.

by:

The adapter is great. I use it to connect my Honda 2000 generator to my camper van to charge the lithium battery pack. I don't need to drag out the 30 foot 30 amp cord since I limit the charging current to 10 amps. I'm buying a "pocket yacht" a Ranger Tug 25 which has a smart plug connection. I'll carry the Honda and use the adapter there as well

Moochdocking Solution for your late model Airstream

Moochdocking or just keeping the batteries and fridge going? This is the neat convenient solution. Indicator light on the plug let you know your power is good.

I use it at the house and at my indoor storage.

Highly recommended

Looked great

by:

Everyone I spoke to was very knowledgeable, They knew me and what I had ordered. They all spoke good English. Also the product was first class. I wish more people were that way.

by:

Couldn’t find this product in stock on any other web site. Initially ordered from [online] but they cancelled the order because product was back ordered. etrailer had this in stock and very quickly delivered it. Previously ordered heavy duty trailer hitch from eTrailer. Great products, fast delivery and excellent customer service.

by:

This cord works just as expected, connecting to my Airstream Interstate with the Smartplug connection, and providing a reliable 15-amp charge to the onboard battery pack.
