Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this MORryde Replacement Step Latch. This is going to replace the left hand side step latch for your MORryde Step Above RV Steps. Now obviously, this is going to be a decentralized latch and so, if you have one of the models of the MORryde Step Above RV Steps that has the central handle that controls both the left and right hand side, this isn't going to work directly with that unit. But if you do have a Step Above Step Set that has just the left hand side latch that you control with this little blue lever, you see is gonna be a direct replacement from MORryde for you, so you can trust it's gonna fit right in place of that original. This does not come with any mounting hardware, so you can either reuse the hardware that originally came to hold that in place or supply your own, but this won't come with any itself.

looks like a quality product, just what I expected it to be. It holds the steps nice and solid.i won't have to put cardboard between the steps and the door anymore.
I installed this latch on my 2021 Forest River, Flagstaff 5th wheel today. Fits and latches perfectly. I thought of turning the latch over and installing it on the right side of the step as this would be on the hinged side of the door but when I looked closely there is a difference in the shape. This latch definitely is made for the left side. All in all I am very pleased.

I have taken my trailer 20k miles sense the first review. This latch has worked flawlessly and is still holding strong.my door and screen door are very thankful.
bought this for the right side of door to double the security of the latch while in transit
This door step is on the very end of a 28ft trailer so it has be be taking a beating while in transit
I would hate to think what would get destroyed if the only one on it failed.
It works perfect.
it already had the bracket on the right side but no latching mechanism so two bolts out & two back in.Very satisfied

works great...same as other side so I get double locking steps during travel
I purchased the step latch and installed on the second set of steps on the camper. It is peace of mind knowing that they are not flopping around and when the door is opened, i know where they will be. The latch is holding up well.
I wish we would’ve purchased this sooner. It’s a game changer for keeping the stairs snug while closing the screen and exterior doors.
Exactly what we needed for our 2021 Flagstaff. Holds the stair in place while you close the door without catching! Replacing the existing stop with this latch takes less than five minutes. I used a little penetrating grease on it and it works very smoothly.
It’s a good product, I’ve looked on your website and tried to find a right hand latch, do you all have them?

I spoke with MORryde and there is not a right side offered like this due to the angle of the latch. A left side like this is only offered.
The latch is excellent, and easy to install. I deducted one star because when I ordered it, the web site said it would be delivered in a few days. I was then notified it was out of stock, and it was delivered three weeks later.

After one year of use, the latch is working fine, I’m glad I did this upgrade.

Does a great job holding the stairs up. It also keeps the stair feet from rubbing on the screen door screening.
Arrived on time, great fix for our steps. Picture shows my stick fix and the new fix installed.

Latch is functioning just fine. The stick became firewood.
Easy to install and fit perfectly.
The part we needed was delivered quickly and worked as expected.
Fit perfectly . Would help if it came with mounting bolts due to its a add on part not a replacement.
Item won’t work on my Step Above MorRyde steps.

The part I ordered is of great quality and was easy to install and does the job.
Easy to install. Works great. 10 minute install.
the installation was simple. will test next week will we are traveling.
Just arrived. I havent installed the latch yet. Everything seems to be as expected.
Nice retrofit latch for my gen 1 steps. Very fast delivery.
Installation was very easy and it worked great after a little spray lube. I don’t know why Jayco didn’t install one of these from the factory. It keeps the steps from banging against the screw door and marking up the finish.

It is still working fine. It keeps the stairs from hitting the screen door.
The steps work as described, but, facing the steps from outside the latch on the left, came out of the box bent. I straightened him as best I could. but would appreciate a new latch sent. I’ve enclosed pictures of the box and the latch. The one on the right is fine.

Needed to put a small shim at the latch to keep the steps tight to the stop blocks. Once that was done all was good. Every trailer is different so just take your time when installing and make modifications as needed. The piece of wood that we used to keep the steps up is history. Now the wife is happy as she can lower the steps without my help.

we like it a lot, this should be standard equipment on the steps in my opinion.
