Why Can't Replacement Step Latch for MORryde Step Above RV Steps Be Installed on Left Side

I understand that this latch is for the left side but is there one for the right side?

In regards to the Replacement Step Latch for MORryde Step Above RV Steps part # MR97BR, the latch fits on the left-side only. The latch assembly doesn't work on the rights side of steps due to the angle of the latch. A latch to fit on the right-side is not offered.

I recently just purchased this new latch for my steps and it's about an inch too short do they offer latches that are longer meaning the whole entire latch
