Can A MORryde Step For A 27" Door Be Used In A 30" Door? Are There Longer Latches?

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/03/2025

Question:

I have a 4 step for a 27 inch door. However I have a 30 inch door. The latch on this one is 3 inch. Do they make one 5 or 6 inch so it will latch on both sides.

Hello Doug, thanks for reaching out. It doesn't look like MORryde makes another latch other than the # MR97BR you were looking at. It sounds like you need a wider step like The MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for 27-3/4" to 30-1/4" Wide Doorways # MR28RR. This will work for a threshold height between 36-1/2" and 42".

Hey Doug, did the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps work out for your 30-inch door? I'm asking because your experience could help others with similar door sizes.

@JesseM RV dealer said it would work. However he would have to make new locking brackets. It was cheaper to buy the correct steps and have it done correctly.
