Today on our camper we'll be taking a look at and installing the Camco RV Drain Valve for 1/2 inch or 3/8 Diameter Drain Hose, Part Number CAM22243. This drain valve lets you easily drain your RV's fresh water tank. It's made out of a durable plastic construction, so you can ensure it's going to last a long time. It's got an 1 1/4 360 degree valve on it, to make it easier for opening and closing. Now that I've gone over some of the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. The very first thing we needed to make sure of is that our tank is empty.
Then we can take our old one off, as you can see it's all messed up and we're going to be replacing it. You may or may not be able to get it off by just twisting it. We're just going to go ahead and bring a wrench in here, just to give us a hand. All right, I grab my new drain valve, as you can see, it's got 2 sizes. We'll need to cut off our 3/8 portion. Now you can see I cut it off here, another good reason as to why you would cut it off is because you don't want the other nozzle to be above our water level.
You will need to provide your own threaded seal tape, I've got some right here. All right, that looks pretty good. All right, then we can get that started on. You want to be sure not to over tighten, if you need to grab a wrench and give it another half turn, I would say that would be about good enough. That's going to complete our look and install of the Camco RV Drain Valve for 1/2 inch or 3/8 Diameter Drain Hose, Part Number CAM22243..
