Question:
Im looking to add a hose to my RV water heater drain, so I can direct the drain water into a bucket, or somwhere besides just down the side of the camper. Will the CAMCO RV drain valve be suitable for the hot water application?

Expert Reply:
The Camco RV Drain Valve # CAM22243 is not designed for use on the hot water tank. The 3/8" # CAM11683 and 1/2" # CAM11703 drain valves are the only style drain valves we carry for compatible with hot water heaters. These do not have a barb on it like the drain valve above. If you select one of these drain valves you will need to come up with a collector to drain the water into a hose and off the side of your camper. Depending on how your drain is positioned on your water heater you may be able to create a custom drain valve using brass components from your local hardware store.
