Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX angle valve stop fitting. This angle valve stop is going to connect your pipes and hoses in your RV fresh water plumbing system, and allow you to control the flow of the water. So whether you're repairing a leaky connection, or you're installing a new line, this is gonna do a great job for you. This will work with the PEX pipes, the old gray PV pipes, and the polyvinyl tubing. On the top end here, we have the 3/8-inch male compression connection that's gonna thread onto a 3/8-inch female compression fitting.
And then we have on the side here, a 1/2-inch barbed connection that's going to fit your hoses and tubes with a 1/2-inch inner diameter. That barbed connection with the compression end here means that you don't need any tools to get a nice secure fit. Basically, the way this is gonna work, you'll slide that compression end over your hose or tube, and then you'll get that barbed end inserted into your hose or tube. Now that might take a little bit of doing, it might require some pressure and wiggling it back and forth to get it inserted, but once it's in there, you can just slide that compression end over it and then get it threaded in place. Now I tried this myself the other night with a very similar fitting.
We had some PEX tube laying around, so I just thought I'd try it, see how strong that connection is. I was actually really impressed. It was very easy to get put on by hand, but then to take it off again, I actually had to use a couple of VISE-GRIPS to remove it. So it's gonna be a very solid connection. One thing I will point out though, is that it can be pretty difficult to get that barbed end into your hose or tubing.
So I'd recommend if you're gonna be working in a confined space, under a sink or in a cabinet or something like that, that you try and get that connection made onto your tubing before you get into that confined space. Preferably somewhere where you have some elbow room that you can apply leverage to get that put in place. But then once that's made, that connection is made, it's gonna be very solid for you, so you don't have to worry about leaks and that sort of thing. Obviously, very important when you're dealing with water connections. This is a polyoxymethylene construction, so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking.
So it will hold up well for you for a long time to come. I do want to point out that this is just one of the many options that we have available here at etrailer.com. So as you're thinking through your project, what kind of connections you're gonna need to make, what kind of lengths of line you're gonna need to run, and that sort of thing, I'd encourage you to check out those other options, make sure you're getting everything that you need for your project. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
